An error occurred while saving the comment Ed Dougherty, Philadelphia commentedI'm fully agreeing that the 'both lanes' option should be restored, for all the reasons mentioned here (and some I didn't think of). But just for clarity, it does exist - that is, it wasn't taken away - for reporting police. That's stayed the same.

I'm on the side of life, safety, continued good health, at all times, but Lee Sprague offers a cogent Big Picture argument that doesn't compromise any of those wishes while making the case for slightly better warnings here. The core of his argument is to curb screen time, AND to adapt to real world road conditions. The safest speeds? Always. But realism about today's road conditions, and perhaps all the moreso in a COVID context, where there are a lot of open roads out there. Upvoting Lee's point.
