I would like a quick/easy way to toggle the navigation guidance.
On routes that I know (daily commute) I don't need guidance, just alerts.
On routes I don't know, I do want navigation guidance.But here's the important part...
On the route I don't know, I typically know how to get home when I'm near my home, therefore I don't want navigation guidance.
Sometimes I know 90% of the route, and don't want to hear Waze providing me guidance for that amount of time, and just want the guidance for the last remaining 10% of the route.The easy solution is a quick toggle for navigation guidance.
The current solution is:
Click menu button.
Click speaker icon.
Select sound option.
Close menu.Have to do the above steps 2 or more times.
That's a lot of steps and distraction to do while driving.
A quick toggle would make it quicker and less distracting.

I would like the capability to pause navigation.
Why?
I have a route from work to home. I need to make an errand, and stop off at the store.
I park my vehicle and take my phone with me into the store.
The Waze app is chirping about the re-route, and making the noise for everyone to hear.Sometimes I just want to make a small detour (e.g. stop at a fuel station, bank, a quick stop). I don't need to stop navigation, nor do I want a bunch of Waze chirping chaos.

I have a preferred route for my commute, that is neither Waze's faster nor shorter router. My preferred route is based on user preferences that are not defined by Waze. Sometimes it is more economical, less hills, less turns, easier to drive, scenery, etc.
What I would like is for Waze to learn my preferred route, and then select my preferred route when I choose my destination. Perhaps each favorite can have a preferred route defined. I want to see on the map and alerts if there is a major problem along my route so that I could consider taking the alternative route. For example, my preferred route wouldn't be preferred if there was a traffic accident.
Another ideal feature that might make the solution simpler would be to display alternative route ETA's. As I come upon a junction to determine my preferred route, I can make my choices based on the alternative ETA's.
