I use waze a lot (400.000 points) and started using CarPlay now. I was super surprised that there is a feature gap between both use cases.
I just rehistered an account here to vote for this, as the missing functionality is a real deal breaker for me - I lost in the last week twice 20 min because of this and had to use a different Navigation app.
Super frustrating when waze still wants to route you back to the closed road. -

It's really frustrating, as using any other issue will always try to reroute to the closed road.
Why did Apple denied to have this feature?
It feels thats the quality overall quality of reported issues related to closed roads declined recently.
I do not know if the stats are available but I could imagine that a higher carplay usage (as more and more cars habe carplay) correlates in declined road closures reportings, ultimately leading to lower user satisfaction...
I pretty sure apple wants to improve their user base in using apple maps....
