I'm from Indonesia, and a lot of the roads suggested by Waze which is faster is actually having to go through very narrow alley which even for 1 car, I would be almost touching both sides of the walls which are people's home. And if there is a car coming from the opposite direction, either one would need to reverse back to the exit before trying again.
And sometimes the alleyway route doesn't even indicate that it is an alley, and it's not uncommon for the route to be gone and became someone else's home in a few months. Like what I experienced today, waze told me to take a right turn into an alley, the left and right turn, but the last right turn doesn't exist anymore.
And the alley is so narrow that it took me around 5 minutes just to turn around and find another route.
