Avoid very narrow road or routes
Avoid very narrow routes option
Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

During my current trip I was routed across back county roads that were narrow and unlined. One was so narrow that I'm not sure an oncoming vehicle could have passed without one, or both, of us needing to drive on the very narrow, rough berm.

Hi. I live in the UK and I'm a long term user of Tom Tom GPS. I recently moved over to Waze because my car supports Android Auto and Apple Car Play. I love the app 90% of the time. However, Waze often seems determined to push me cross-country down tiny little country lanes, where there's often only enough width for one car. Having to reverse my car backwards to a siding cut into the hedgerow, so another car can go past, is really not fun. My Tom Tom has an option to stay on roads with two lanes, even if the route would be slightly longer. If memory serves me right, it's called something like "Main Roads Preference".
I've seen this topic discussed in archived posts here, so I don't understand why the program developers haven't put this essential choice into the app's option list yet.
It's the one and only problem I have with Waze, which in every other area, is really very good. However, this issue drives me nuts, and it saddens me to say it will probably force me back to my antique Tom Tom so I can option my journey the way I want it to be...
I'd like the app developers to reconsider putting this much requested feature into Waze. It would be a great way to ensure users stay with the app and don't move across to your rivals.
I think there may be a fairly easy way to code this into the app by adding a "large vehicle, or truck" to your vehicle type option list. As a truck cannot easily drive down single track roads, this should ensure the route selected by Waze would give priority to main roads.

In Perth Western Australia I feel safer travelling on major arterial roads rather than shorter suburban back streets.

You should give wazers an option to avoid narrow streets or if someone feels comfortable in narrow streets, recommend him/her a route which goes through narrow streets (if its faster).
I live in town which is filled with narrow streets and waze never recommends me a route through them but they are often faster than main roads.
Maybe you could also add vehicle category "truck/big vehicle" which would avoid narrow streets automaticly.

Some Streets in Italy are allowed for two way traffic, but the street is very narrow sometimes less than 2m. It would be good to have an option to avoid this streets.
