Notify if place is closed when starting a route
Google Maps will notify you when you begin a route if the place you are going to is closed. Can this function be added to Waze?

Predictive Routing
As awesome as Waze is, the fact that it can never remember my route to work is a little annoying. Every week I drive the same route to the office and Waze takes me on a similar route, I think that if you drive the same route enough times to and from the same locations, Waze should recognize that and load the route you always take as the main route.

Avoid small streets (width less than 2m)
Some Streets in Italy are allowed for two way traffic, but the street is very narrow sometimes less than 2m. It would be good to have an option to avoid this streets.

Autodetect closures and closed roads
Waze should automatically detect closures and close roads without relying on Wazers to use the in-app closure function or on map editors to add them. Just as Waze can detect traffic and reroute, it could also detect when no one follows the directed guidance and there is zero traffic on a segment. Then when Wazer start driving on the segment again it could reopen.
Google Maps (part of Google Geo) gets closure info from Waze. And Waze (part of Google Geo) should also get closure info from Google Maps. It doesn't now, and instead will route Wazers into a closed…

Lock Waze to a chosen route
When I choose a route, there should be a way to keep Waze from redirecting back to a route I did NOT choose. In Raleigh, NC, 540 has much less traffic and construction than route 1 to interstate 40 when traveling from south of the city to the airport. But Waze keeps directing me back to US 1. I is hugely annoying! I understand there is a crowd-source/traffic-based algorithm, but I should be allowed to choose a different route. I end up following Waze so I don't miss the exit off 540 I orginally wanted.

Add “Avoid Width Restrictions”
I’ve got a pretty big car and hate width restrictions when I’m driving through the rat race of London rushing to get to work.
If you can add “Avoid Width Restrictions” any road with a width restriction that would really help! Thanks !11 votes -
Pause route feature
Being able to pause the directions would be really nice. On a long drive on a highway I might turn onto a rest stop or to get some gas. Hypotheticalically I might even want to stop to see a giant ball of twine. It would be really nice if I could stop the GPS from freaking out about the wrong turn.
I generally don't need the GPS to go to the rest stop or to find the gas station, and I don't want a notification to take a break.
However, being able to pause my directions would be nice as…10 votes -

Block a turn only to myself.
A single segment makes my daily travel to work and son therapy only 1-2 minutes shorter, but through a neighborhood I avoid because it's full of turns and bad pavement. I wish I could make that single turn red on the WME but only for me so Waze can route me to any other route it sees better for me.

Alphabetize lists
Simple. Why hasnt Waze alphabetized the saved places routes and recent routes? If it wasnt for the cop feature I wouldn't use Waze. Such a royal pain to find what you're looking for. They wrote so much code for this app I'm sure writing code to alhabetize 2 lists wouldn't be difricult. This has been brought up before by many users and nothing gets done.

Enhancing Navigation by Selectively Considering Planned Road Closures
One possible solution could be to include a checkbox that allows editors to choose which planned closures are considered so important that they should be taken into account in the navigation before they become effective. This way, editors can select only the closures that are critical for navigation, while excluding those that are not as important.
For example, in Switzerland these days, the Gotthard Tunnel is closed at night for cleaning. This closure can cause significant disruptions to travel, as the Gotthard Tunnel is an essential link between German-speaking Switzerland and the Italian-speaking Ticino region. Without the tunnel, the detour…

I think an option in the driver settings to ‘avoid low bridges’ would be a useful tool for many.

Choose to avoid or not to avoid narrow street
You should give wazers an option to avoid narrow streets or if someone feels comfortable in narrow streets, recommend him/her a route which goes through narrow streets (if its faster).
I live in town which is filled with narrow streets and waze never recommends me a route through them but they are often faster than main roads.
Maybe you could also add vehicle category "truck/big vehicle" which would avoid narrow streets automaticly.

Mixed routing strategy (Fastest, shortest, economical,... and others to come)
The "best" route is often a matter of personnal compromise.
It's often a mix of fastest, shortest, and more and more road cost / fuel economy.
I suggest we add a "Mixed" routing strategy, that could follow our preferences.We could think of a system starting with 100 points that the user would share among the different "strategies" of routing.
For instance, one could set :
* Fastest : 50 points
* Shortest : 30 points
* Economy : 20 points.That has the big advantage to allow other routing strategy for future.
* Less traffic lights : 5 points…9 votes
