Clear active selection as soon as a new road is inserted
When you insert a new road and try to connect it with a selected segment the result is a 'No connection at node B'.
This behavior is very bad for new editors.
Besides that, a more experienced editor has to do extra actions to clear the selection before inserting a new road.
Wouldn't it be possible to clear the active selection as soon as a new road is inserted?
The active selection will be cleared at the end of inserting a road anyway, so I think it can be cleared at the beginning too.
But sometimes an editor wants to cancel inserting. Then it could be that the clearing of the selection is unwanted. In that case the selection could be reactivated (depending on the preference).
