הרעיון הוא "גילוי והתרעה בזמן אמת", על אובייקטים המסכנים את הרכב או הרכב מסכן אותם במהלך הנהיגה (אובייקטים הכוונה: הולכי רגל, רוכבי אופניים, מכוניות וכד').
המשמעות של תוספת, "גילוי והתרעה בזמן אמת", לאפליקציית Waze, היא מניעת תאונות דרכים והגברה משמעותית של רמת הבטיחות בדרכים.
