When not navigating the name of the next street could display at the top of the screen... e.g. passenger says turn right at...
Waze was automatically trying to route me back home when I was driving in the opposite direction, it kept rerouting me to turn at the next street and it was sooo easy to know if the street I was looking for was next. No more frantically looking for small street signs while driving at speed, then turning abruptly.

This would be an excellent idea, at the bottom when a route is not planned and i'm just driving with Waze running, it currently says "Car Info". This info does not need to be changed whilst driving and can be done within the options anyway. A better use for this space would be to always display the current street name allowing the driver to learn street names whilst going about normally day to day life.

This suggestion has been asked for often. Why is it so difficult to get rid of the greeting and just display the street/road name currently travelling on.

I understand that if you touch the arrow or icon of the vehicle you get the information but this goes away after a few seconds. Please fix this issue or at least advise you are attempting to fix it.

Sometimes I don’t want to put my specific destination in, but I’d like for Waze to tell me what road I am currently on like it does when I DO have a destination put in.

I would like to see a feature similar to Garmin and other gps units that displays the current road I you ar driving on. This would be for when you are not using navigation directions but rather just driving around on day to day activity's. This could also replace the wording at the bottom of the screen that says something like good morning, which is where it could display the current street that you are on. This would helpful when I am out just driving around and want to know what street I am on with out looking for a street sign or fumbling around in the app to touch on the arrow icon showing where I am at for this information. I could also seeing this help out with law enforcement, taxi drivers, and other such people who need to know where they are at or coming up to at all times.

Especially when driving in unknown areas, but also known areas: It would be helpful if you can tap a button and it tells you where you are, for example:
* 5 km from town A,
*12 km from town B
* near 32 Street Name, between Street A and Street C
* 23 km from next exit to Town C,
* 2 km south of previous exit to town A.

This can also be used to report accidents and problems to the authorities.

When using Waze purely as a map and not with a planned route, rather than the bottom bar saying "Good Morning", it could have the road name that you're on instead. I have the app running for most of the day, without a planned route and sometimes it would be useful to know what road I'm on in a new area.

I really don't need to be told good morning, I'd rather know what street I'm currently on. Some streets aren't well labeled.

Would be nice when just driving without being directed but still have the app open to report, that you can show the street heading at the bottom like you when in a directed route.

I want to see the road/street im currently driving on without navigating to a specific waypoint.

Instead of having "Good morning" in the bottom of my screen i want to se "Driving on XXXXX street" or similar without the need for entering a destination.

Im in law enforcement and i often need to know my current location without delay (in car chases for example).

At any moment i want to look at my display and see the street that im currently driving on!
