I wish when Waze suggests a detour, it also mentions how much time will be saved or added to the trip right away so the driver can make an informed decision to take or not take the detour suggested. Many a times we have taken a detour just to realize we barely saved much time but lost the convenience of staying on a highway, close to rest stops.

it would be great if the "travel time saved" was user adjustable.. i.e, don't re-route me if it's going to save less than a minute, or 5 minutes, of travel time..

A setting like, “show alternate route if it saves - (X number of minutes”(X=a selectable number of minutes).

Give users the ability to set a minimum (range is fine) time saved before rerouting. Currently Waze will put me on side streets, back roads… to save just a few minutes. In reality these roads with fewer Waze travelers are unpredictable and rarely return the savings promised.

Dear waze, please do not re-route me through the south side of chicago off of I80 and risk my life to save me 2 minutes. Waze needs more option to avoid certain things. For instance, in additon to things like, avoid toll roads, avoid unpaved roads, so how about....
AVOID OPEN AIR DRUG MARKETS!!!!! Brilliant!

Agree also give an alternate entrance to the same highway or another street route to highway !
or let us say NO WAZE try another route

One of my trips, Waze tells me to make all these turns to get me to the route I know I do not want and is out of my way. I keep driving my way and it FINALLY will change its route to my way to get to highway.

I should be able to say NO cause I know the other way is worse. There should be more options available.

Many times waze gets stuck on certain alternate routes without considering other good viable options. Adding more than 3 alternate route options would be very helpful.

I like this idea a lot except sometimes even 5 min can make a big difference when your in a hurry but if you are not in a hurry 5 min is not a big deal. It would be amazing to have the option

Have the possibility to select what is the minimal amount of time you want to spare before recalculating a new itinerary.

This could be a value in minutes set by the user in the setup menu.

For example, if the user does specify 15 mins, waze will never change the itinerary if there are alternative routes available under this value.

Permit preferred routes - at least for "Home" and "Work" settings, and allow user-defined time difference to determine when rerouting is recommended.
Waze tries to send me to work through a nightmare intersection during rush hour, because it's sometimes 2 minutes faster than the much-easier route. It also sends me through a school zone at pick-up time because it's 1 minute faster (sometimes) than a turn where only 2-3 cars often go per stoplight cycle. If I had a preferred route with a time-savings setting of 3 minutes, I would know if TODAY I really do need to take the alternate route.

Allow users to configure a setting that tells Waze not to suggest an alternate route unless the route is xx% shorter.

Many times Waze will suggest circuitous alternate routes that end up saving me a few minutes but add aggravation and overhead if the route is not familiar or is on weird byways.

I'd love to tell Waze don't bother suggesting an alternate or re-route unless it saves me more than 10% of my trip time. (Some users might want to configure that % higher or lower).

I would like to suggest creating a Waze account where the user can determine a value to be considered when setting the shortest or fastest route.
For example, if the user registers 5 minutes the APP will check if the difference between the fastest and the shortest route is equal to or less than 5 minutes if yes, will choose the shortest route. If not, choose the fastest. This will help reduce fuel consumption and reduce pollution.

Nothing more annoying than when you look down and Waze is telling you to go a different direction and it is only saving you two minutes. Create a feature where a user can enter a certain number of minutes saved before being re-routed.

I'm a woman and driving home alone last night in winter Waze sent me on a very complicated route on dark streets through a bad part of Boston. If I had had car trouble situation could have been very bad. Standard roads were fine and not far. Not everyone wants to get there 5 min faster at all costs!!!!!!!! Besides the gps is not fail safe.

Love the app.
But per default, the app chooses the fastest way. Even when just gaining 1 or 2 minutes you end up driving about 10 km more than needed.
My suggestion is to add in the settings an option, something like "Choose the fastest way/roads if I gain more than X min on my route".
