Now that iOS has a feature where you can create a text to speech voice by sampling your own voice (Personal Voice), I think Waze should include the option to use that as the navigation voice, as it will be able to read street names.

It is recommended to use specialized programs to correctly record your voice on a computer. However, all this can be done using the sound recording panel. The most important thing is to choose the right disc quality. All my recorded files were deleted last month. The problem was that the HDD was not working properly. Therefore, I had to make a raid data recovery (https://www.salvagedata.com/raid-data-recovery/ ). Btw, you can trim unnecessary fragments, share the recording with friends or completely delete files in playback mode. The left panel shows all your entries.

Add upload sound file to the 'Add a voice' feature. Now it always sounds horrible and why shouldn't it be possible to choose to upload sounds or record a voice?

I wish I could upload my own audio clips instead of use your mic on your app. I have a high quality studio at home but can run it waze on it

Recording your own commands is a great feature but 99% of the time the audio sounds terrible from the device's microphone. A better option would be to allow importing audio from the user's internal device storage. Then those of us with a means to make high quality recordings could transfer our wave, MP3, ogg, or whatever-format-you-use files from our workstations to our devices. Then allow Wazers to import from their storage. I think you would find users having much more fun with custom audio features, and you could open a whole new level of competition for content creation, drawing more users to your app. Currently the audio for the app is stored inside the root area and inaccessible for editing or for adding your own files.

I tried to record my voice on Waze but the quality is so poor. I have a voice recording App on my phone and the voice quality is significantly better than voice recorder on Waze also I would like to add street names. How can I do it ?

The recording option is fun. But really low quality for some reason. Let us store HD versions on the phone only so we done use Waze cloud space. I also would like to use files on the device

I would like to have the possibility of recording a vocale note that will be linked to that position on the map, So each time i will pass in that position i will hear my message back!!.. more funny than life saving..
But a lot memories are linked to places!

There's no "in 500 meters" option when recording own voice. So sometimes, when the voice prompts instructions in 500 meters, it says "in 800 meters" instead. It can be misleading for others.

Waze was amaizing when we could add custom voices. Either make the Waze folder visible again without root to allow users to install custom voices or make an "official" option in the app.

Any gig offer at your establishment?

I was told by a few people that I have a “radio” or a nice sounding voice and I should go into show business. I never noticed it for myself.

It's a very good idea. I Googled for it and saw your topic.

During a test drive using my custom voice (in Hebrew), I realized that there's an excessive delay between conjoined recordings (most notably "In [distance], [instruction]"). This was because I recorded the lines while waiting for each one's time to run out, in order to prevent the abrupt sound of the screen being tapped. Instead of recording them all over again, it should be possible to edit them like how voice memos can be edited. I specifically need to trim them where they end to prevent the delay. This feature should've been added when custom voices were implemented to begin with.

Need more options for left /right directions which waze will pick randomly rather than the same directions repeated .. which is a bit repetitive
