remove Lake Shore Ave and Baxter St. from rush hour routes
someone is going to be seriously injured. the street is a 32% grade and scares many drivers. during rush hour it's a DANGEROUS disaster waiting to happen.

Yes yes definitely these streets should be removed. My husband used to live on Baxter and has told me many stories about it, which is the only reason I knew about it. And I was still terrified when Waze routed me through there. I drive a manual transmission and it was VERY hairy getting over the hill. When Waze has tried to route me through there again I have just gone a different way, but most people won't know that. I can't imagine being routed on that street if you don't know about it. It is not a good idea to have people who are not familiar with this street driving on it.

Every time I pass the intersection of Baxter and Alvarado around rush hour there are cars spinning wheels because they stop in confusion before the brow of the hill. It's also impossible and dangerous to try and cross the intersection when driving on Alvarado. Every single rush hour incidents seem to happen. I've heard of a car sliding back down the hill into other cars with wheels spinning.

Couldn't WAZE get sued for recommending this route? I've lived in the neighborhood for 67 years and avoid those streets except when I want to frighten out of town passengers. I vote to remove them from WAZE's database.

People don't trust the road, stopping in the middle of the intersection, or halfway up the steep hill, causing lots of traffic problems. UNSAFE, particularly for those of us who aren't cutting through, we live there. Please remove!

Besides the steep grade, Baxter and Alvarado is also a challenging intersection that most new drivers do not know how to navigate causing dangerous backups and stop sign abuse. I live at Baxter and Lemoyne and feel that our neighborhood is not safe with these streets as usual Waze routes. Thank you!

As a Baxter St resident I firmly agree with this suggestion! The traffic has gotten so much worse in the last few months due to Waze. And there has been at least one bad accident on Baxter due to excessive traffic - one person taken to the hospital in an ambulance, huge traffic jam, lots of cops. Thanks for starting this vote!!

it's highly irresponsible to offer these streets as shortcuts - both for residents and commuters. please remove them from rush hour routes.

Please remove these streets from your algorithm. Bad enough some residents still can't handle it, most Waze users are not prepared for the steep grade or blind intersections. I don't even use this unless I'm visiting friends up in the hills. Don't say we didn't warn you

Baxter St, Lake Shore Ave, and Lemoyne St NEED to be removed from Waze routes. As a local resident, I see people getting stuck and/or sliding down the hill when they realize they can't make it up or they're too scared to.
This is a serious safety hazard and needs to be addressed before something really bad happens!

The hills on Baxter are narrow and steep. No visibility over the top and no way to turn around. Only people who live in the neighborhood should be using these streets. Stop the madness!

Just saw accident there 2 days ago
Super dangerous !!! -

All the other commenters have said it: since the advent of waze, traffic on Lemoyne has increased very significantly. In itself that's a danger, but the train of inexperienced drivers on Baxter creates a seriously dangerous situation way worse!

Also, Commonwealth and Avocado.

This is nightmare to keep this street as an alternate route. People get to the top and can not see over the hill and just stop in a panic. The cars below them loose traction because you not stop on this steep incline. I have actually seen someone do a u-turn at the top of this peak. It really is a safety concern.

This is a public safety issue. A car or truck gets stuck on this hill weekly. Two weeks ago, a frightened driver flipped his car, rolled down the hill, and had to be extracted from the vehicle. Please do not wait for a serious injury to occur before taking action on this issue.

I am a local resident and in the last few months I've had to back down the hill in reverse due to a frightened (non-local) driver getting stuck half way up the hill. This has happened multiple times. It is particulate dangerous for mini cars who spin out in the rain. This is a seriously dangerous situation!

Please remove Baxter street. It's too dangerous to non local drivers. Especially when Waze is guiding them at rush hour and people are getting backed up on the hill.

Baxter Street hill should be for local traffic only and not a shortcut on Waze.
