automatically pause playing music before giving audible directions
Automatic Media Pause before audible directions

Thank you for your suggestion! As you may already know, the volume for your car’s audio is automatically lowered when directions are sounded.

I too would love Waze to pause podcasts or similar playing media before speaking directions etc. I hate missing out on an audiobook or a joke during a podcast.

When you have a MP3 player in the background, the music is paused on voice directive. So far, so good.
But it's NOT paused on voice input which causes the voice recognition to fail. So you should also pause the music on voice input.

The beta has this feature and it is the most annoying thing. I'd either listen audio with prompts (lower volume) or just navigation if it is so critical. But such interruptions make me especially nervous.

But make this an option that we can turn on or off - I can live with Waze saying "speed trap ahead" over my audio book or music rather than pausing and resuming.

This happens with the iphone. Android really needs it, too.

I agree. I am using android v3. I use my phone as a music player while waze is active in my vehicle. It would be nice if waze lowered or "dimmed" the music while giving route instructions.

I have actually been either muting waze or turning it off entirely because it keeps interrupting my podcasts and audio-books. Google Navigation correctly pauses external audio before interrupting.

Would love to "hear" this feature become a reality. :) Navigation/alert voice talks over my podcasts, making it hard to follow my podcast while both are talking.

It would be helpful to have Waze pause any playing music or audiobooks before giving audible directions, I have seen this on other GPS programs, if you are listining to music it makes it difficult to hear the directions.
