Avoiding roads
Allow us to avoid certain roads alongs routes, (toll roads, construction, traffic)

Great news. Setting to avoid toll roads is already available globally. It is also possible to mark dangerous zones on map editor level, so the app could warn you if your route goes through one of dangerous zones.

Waze keeps routeing me to a HOV lane that I can't take. I hate selecting a different route that may be significantly slower than if Waze just calculated a main lane option. If Waze would just let me delete a road either as a personal setting so that the option is never calculated that would be ideal. Alternatively perhaps in turn by turn directions, a specific route segment could be deleted. That would require me to delete the HOV segment each time, but that would still be better than having to select entirely different route options. I'm not looking to remove the road entirely from other people's options, just my own. A third best option would be if Waze added an HOV option to the settings, but given that Waze can't detect HOV lanes, I'm sure that would be more difficult.

Keeps taking me down single track roads in Cornwall with few passing places and overgrown hegdes - no room to reverse if oncoming vehicle won't give way
Takes far longer than main roads but no facility to exclude -

This would be especially helpful for me as I cannot drive on highways and while I have highway driving being avoided in settings, I am still directed to go on NJ Routes 4 and 17!!!

In Paris (France), there is a far too expensive highway labelled A14 which costs almost 10 Euros for 5 km.
Of course, the highway is empty as there is an alternate FREE highway running the same path.
Waze keeps on bringing everybody back to this far too expensive highway, even when you exit it and want it to calculate new paths.
The ability to block it permanently would save lots of stress and erros on the road. -

It would be nice if Waze would let you "swipe right" on a road from the drop down of the step by step directions. That way if there is a toll road that is cheap and one that is expensive and you know you want to avoid it Waze can determine the fastest route that avoids that road. An example is variable-toll roads that determine the price on the traffic, sometimes in Washington DC they can be $20 and not save much time.

Every night Waze tries to take me on a road that's closed for construction. It would be helpful if I could disable that exit so I don't have to constantly go out of my way.

Agreed. In my situation when travelling relatively locally when the freeway has heavy traffic I prefer to take back streets so I can keep moving even if it is a little longer, and avoid the freeway.Currently I go through the settings and find this option to turn it off (then often forget before I next plot my route). Having the option when setting the route to decide on the fly to avoid toll roads, free ways, very busy roads (even if they moving) would be great

I'd like to avoid entire states, I travel between PA <-> DMV every week and conceal carry. I can't completely rely on Waze unless I want to end up in jail because of the non-reciprocal agreements in regards to concealment. I travel outside state lines.
I would also like an option "Avoid HOV" or "Passenger Count" that will know. Waze always suggest HOV lanes when I am alone and assumes that it is a "normal" road. This is a fine of up to $1000 and 3 points, you guys really should add more features like this. (Allow users/map editors to submit the specifics in the region or use what you have at least).

There is a narrow, winding mountain road that Waze likes to send me up when traffic is bad during my morning commute, like when it is raining. I much prefer traffic than driving on a narrow, winding probably slippery, road in the rain right after I woke up in the morning. I tried to drive past it this morning, hoping Waze would redirect me to an alternative route, but I guess it pulled me too far out of the way because all I got were commands to turn around.

There's a road we take in summer that goes through a steep canyon, but during winter when it rains there are lots of mudslides so we never take it because we don't want to die in a mudslide. We should be able to select that road and tell WAZE to treat it as closed for us.

Would love to be able to mark a road as "always avoid". Waze keeps trying to get me to turn left onto a four lane highway off a side street with cross traffic not required to stop when just one block earlier there is a stop light with a protected left turn. I've driven the alternate route dozens of times and Waze continues to ignore it.

I have a route when coming home which I get directed down if the traffic is busy in the nearby town (where I would normally get routed). The problem is it is a single track lane which is quite heavily travelled during busy periods and makes it slow, as you have to give way etc, and tiring with all the concentration due to its winding nature.
Personally I would like an additional option to also avoid single track lanes (if Waze uses such information) but just being able to say I never want it to use that road would suffice :) After a long day at work, I travel a lot as well, the last thing I need is a high concentration road to wear me out even more! I would rather take the busier route and have an easier time of it.

Certain roads might be better mileage wise but certainly not the best choice based on stoplight timing, road conditions, etc. I would like to be able delete sections before I plan a trip.

A quick hold and mark as banned road would do the trick

This would greatly assist beginner drivers who would want to avoid freeways.
