Adjustable Auto-Zoom
Why the "+" and "-" buttons are not available when in "auto zoom" mode ?
I'd like to be auto zoom, but I'd like to set my own "range" with the + and - button
Great news! Customizing autozoom levels is now available in Waze. Install the latest app version to check it out.

I think google almost nailed it on the zoom option and waze should put an eye on it. First of all, auto zoom on google maps is spot on. On waze, i feel most of the time im too zoomed in. At the same time when I connect to my skoda yeti, waze decides "for my safety" to remove the zoom +/- buttons!! Really?! Not being able to see my route clearly, or to change the scale has caused nothing but more "off the road, on the screen" time. Can be so easy, put square +/- buttons; make my second knob (not the volume knob) to do zoom in/out by rotating! That was the only safe way to zoom in/out, that google maps had a
For a moment and then redicilously removed as option.
But worst decision so far has been to make people unable to zoom while driving.... not because quite often there is not just one person in car, so someone else can use map... but because not being able to comfortably see your rpute or zoom out/ zoom in on junction, etc. causes not better safety, but confusion, annoyance and much greater safety risk! -

Agree. We need a Minimum and Maximum Zoom range for auto zoom. I have a widescreen in one of my cars and the Auto Zoom goes out too far making the Hazard bubbles just small circles and easy to miss or ignore. In another car the screen is smaller and doesn't zoom out as far at same speeds and the bubbles are larger and easier to see.

I HATE the new zoom buttons!! Why make it a two-step process??? Bring back the separate + and - buttons to allow a one-touch zoom.

A possibility to activate or desactivate an option to put a smaller map, on the left side in the middle, showing from a zoom out the whole planned route. A possibility to adjust the size, direction view e.g. North-South, the position of the sizeabla map! :)

Remember old Navitel navigation, it had an option to adjust the auto zoom behaviour, there was a line with two sliders representing minimum speed and scale (m) and maximum speed and relevant scale (m).
The option was very flexible and usefull.
Example:
One would like to see the map scaled to 10m/cm at 20kmph, while other want to see the map as 100m/cm at the same speed. This difference is adjusted with slider. Same for maximum speed.
Such adjustable auto zoom would satisfy all users, those who want to see the car very close to see the map details around, and those who want to see whole route for hundreds km. -

I love Waze but I don't like new zoom button. You have first to tape the round +/- button and then you have to try adjust the zoom level keeping your finger on the screen. It takes too time while riding and it's not safe!
Bring back the old + and - buttons!
