"Open in Waze" - modify the Waze code so a user can click and hold on an address and be given the option to "Open in Waze" for navigation.
"Open in Waze" (or "Navigate to in Waze") would merely allow the user to click and hold on an address in their phone and be given the option to open the address within Waze itself.
A user currently can open an attachment in an email in numerous different downloadable programs. The same is true for address which currently default to the Maps app. It would be nice to see the same integration with Waze.
Then, whenever a person receives a text, email, or other message with an address within it, the user would be able to click and hold on that address and select the option to "Open in Waze". From there Waze would either display that address with the option to navigate to said address, or would begin navigation automatically. Either way, it would be one more step towards making Waze even easier to use for entering destinations.

That would be nice, but this is an Apple thing. Apple would have to allow third-parties to hook into such tap-and-hold options.
When you see things that say Open in Google Maps and others it's because that app (for example, the Google app itself) can control that.
System-wide is, as mentioned, another story.

This still isn't available and other apps are able to do it, no jailbreak required. As an example I just asked a friend to text me his location through WhatsApp and tapping on his location will launch the maps app and load driving directions but also if you tap and hold his location in the conversation a menu pops up and I get "copy" and "open in foursquare" so if foursquare can handle addresses I don't understand why waze can't. It would really be a super useful feature, specially when used with WhatsApp.

With how popular Waze has become, but a proper Jailbreak for iOS 6 and iPhone 5 not yet public, I'm sure this will be done quickly.
This currently exists as a Cydia app called "Navigate From Maps" and supports Navigon, TomTom, and maybe others.

Exactly! This is sorely missing. Currently when you hold an address, it shows menu 'Open in Map(google map)'; 'Copy' etc. You will then have to copy the address, launch Waze, swipe the icon, click the search bar, paste the address then go, the whole process takes 5 clicks and 1 minute to complete, depending your signal level etc. Such a pain!

Someone should do it in Cydia, since apple would probably not allow it in the app store
