Heads up Display (HUD)
make an heads up display icon so that the user can place it on their dash and the reflection will show up on the windshield.. for night time driving whee it is safer to stare closer to the road versus looking down...other apps use this idea but they dont have the GPS ability..it will set waze apart from all other GPS systems..and make it look extra cool!

Could this idea be moved to the Waze client - general instead of iPhone. It is a feature that could be useful on all platforms.

or if the pico projector is capable, use Android's ChromeCast or Miracast to send display to projector

It would be nice to connect the phone via HDMI to a pico projector that can project the display in a car's HUD....

HUD is the only feature left that would make WAZE the best GPS navigator most of us have ever and will ever use.

Would love to see a heads up display that would project image to the windshield. There is an app by Rit,LLC called His way that does it that's really neat. It's great during nightime driving or when it's raining or its foggy

Would be awesome, at night this should be no problem! During the day I guess you won't see a thing of the hud.

I totally agree. A HUD mode will make navigation easier and safer. I Thin it is only a minor thing to make a HUD mode, just inverse the display, simplify the information and also increase the contrast.

Please add. "Per".... There wouldn't be a double image if you got the HUD film off Amazon.com.

A combo between Navdy and Maze - I like the projection "hardware" from Navdy and the display Maze running from our phone. If Maze can add an option for head up display, it will be wonderful. Functions provide by Navdy are not really exciting. I hope they will sell their projection hardware just as an external display for our phones.

When a new place was added to the map, Waze must allow to an editor or owner of new place added to rotate photos inserted.

Waze is amazing, but I'd really like to see it in a stripped down "HUD mode" while driving.
Ideally I could put it on the dashboard and view the reflection in the windshield. For that to work, the UI would need to be stripped down to the minimal navigation elements, with thicker, higher contrast navigation lines and less, but larger text, and the image would need to be inverted, so the reflection would be readable. But the key is that it's stripped down to the minimal info so it's not distracting while driving. That is, the road ahead most of the time, and turn instructions when a turn is coming up, and of course, the current voice alerts.
For extra credit, it'd be nice to have more voice control, so (for example) I could use the app hands-free, and still confirm that I see what's by the side of the road, etc.
The current HUD apps look nice, but don't have Waze's depth.

There is a app out there called Corner HUD -- Android that has this exact feature.... but it really lacks the fully detailed navigational display. Might be a App worth getting ahold of and intergrating this with waze....
