Save Battery by turning off the display when not in use.
Currently when I use waze, my phones display is draining the battery. I have the following suggestion to reduce the battery usage. If you could include this in future release, I am sure everyone will turn on waze even if they don't need navigation assist.
My suggestion
Turn off the display automatically after a certain speed or give the user an option to turn off the display without locking the phone. This will be very helpful to reduce battery usage when you travel familiar routes and long road trips.
Turn on the display automatically when there is a voice command and when the vehicle is below certain speed. (that's when users look at the display) and have an option to turn on the display by waving hand in front of the camera.
Great news! The battery saver mode is now available in Waze. Install the latest app version to check it out.

Hi, I am using Version 4.103.1.2 and there is the option to turn on battery saver, but it only dims the screen. And also, do I have to turn it on manually for every single drive again? Can we not have a setting to permanently turn it on?
What I think KurianJ meant, was to completely turn off the screen, until something's happening, like a turn or an alert. Are there plans to implement that?
Otherwise, I would like to upvote this suggestion and say that it's not available as suggested. -

when driving on the highway, long minutes is not needed to watch waze, might be good to put it into some sleep battery saving mode, (only if battery would really be saved significantly)

I really like rio use your software.
There is just one very important, missing thing, namely there is no battery saving option.
This could control the screen of the mobile, when there is no action, warning, the software could switch off the screen. As an action, warning and turn coming could switch on the screen... And so on...
Could you consider to implement this feature? If so, when can we expect to get it?
Thank you so much!

Have Waze turn itself off after 5 minutes of no motion to save battery.
