Lack of downloaded maps
I have personally experienced the total letdown of Waze when driving into a region with no cellular coverage. A friend of mine has had a similar experience. Waze doesn’t store its maps on my Android. That’s unbelievable! For many years I’ve used Garman GPS receivers with no letdown on the road due to the fact that the map database is stored in the device. Do you really consider this an acceptable level of navigation reliability? I’m counting on Waze and it fails me when I’m in strange territory. This exactly what a GPS navigation tool is NOT supposed to be. And please don’t tell me the map data won’t fit on my Android. Other navigation apps do download the maps to my phone but they are far inferior to Waze in other ways.

I went camping, used waze to get there, couldn't use waze to get back until I found somewhere with reception. It was a scary trip not knowing really how to get back when a lot of it was one way roads so I couldn't just go the way I came.
I would REALLY like waze to offer download option for your routes there and offer a "download return route" option. Please please please. 🙏🏼 -

Offline navigation is a necessary feature for many large areas and some popular tourist attractions such as the Grand Canyon. Last time I went there if I hadn't downloaded an offline map from Google maps before my trip I would have gotten there and then when I left had no idea where to go since Waze can't calculate a route offline.
