It would be great if School Zones were added.
I gave votes to the others. I do understand there are time management issues. This would be a huge plus.
Great thinking! The issue you raised has been addressed in a recent redesign. You may check this link to learn more on how to manage school zone alerts. Hope you like it!

I would like to suggest adding an audible alert for School Zones.
1. Audible command "School Zone Ahead" or "Approaching School Zone"
2. Add an option to avoid school zones.
3. Waze or the users can report/update times update as needed. -

Simply include any school zone that you are approaching. A simple verbal warning that you are approaching a school zone would make it much safer for children and help drivers not get caught in speed traps.

I just wondered why the school zone and time features still don’t have on the app. This is very important and safety features for our kids and us. Let’s build it together. Also I read a lot of recommendations here about it.

In addition to being able to program variable speed limits, you could add a yellow school zone colour to roads on the map that are part of a school zone.

I think if waze could add in school zone speed limits during the hours they're active, that would be really great. This would save a lot of people from getting traffic tickets, and would help improve road safety for kids. It could be a community feature where wazers add in where they start/end, and what hours they're active, then during those hours the app displays the actual speed limit!

Can you also make speed alert beeps bit more consistent when you go throughout the speed limit

School Zones should have times when the lower speed limit is active. This should also allow Waze to route around school zones if needed. When school is not in session the regular posted speed limit should be shown.

would love an option to avoid school zones. i’d prefer to go around rather than navigate distracted parents and packs of kids standing on the curbs waiting to cross the street.

Buenas tardes.
Sugiero que los limites reducido de velocidad para las escuelas, sean establecido 50 metros antes del punto donde se disminuye la velocidad. Esta medida, le dará al conductor Wazer la posibilidad de tomar acciones para prevenir un evento.
Un saludo.

Including speed, times in effect, presence of warning lights, etc.
Would be very useful for driving in unfamiliar areas during school hours.

In order to have a less stressful commute I would like to avoid school zones especially when school starts and let out.

When you edit the speed limit, you can put certain speed limits for certain times and days.

In Australia, school zones are sections of road that have reduced speed limits during school start and finish times and found near schools...
8am - 9:30am &
2:30pm - 4pm zones are activated & speed is reduced to 40km/h
I would like to see the screen change to a warning type colour with school zone & 40km/h on the screen -

Adding the ability for users to report active school zones the same way they report traffic jams and speed limit errors would be great!
