There should be the option to report a fire as a hazard on Waze, whether it be a vehicle fire or just a fire next to the road; most people will end up reporting a vehicle fire as an accident which isn't accurate

Wildfires are a major problem in South Africa given the large amounts of grass along the major routes. Would be good to be able to select this option as the smoke usually drifts across and reduces visibility on the road ahead.

Since I live in Southern California, you can add the weather alert warning tab for windy/gusty condition and wild/brush fire.

Add "Field Fire" to the available Hazards for us to select and inform our fellow Wazers

I believe that after the fires up north and the enormous loss of life because people and authorities were unable to communicate which routes were open to escape- waze has a MORAL OBLIGATION to make their platform available to authorities during these situations so people know WHERE TO GO!! if you listen to the 911 calls which people looking to know: where are the fires? where should I go? which roads are open? which roads should I take? where are the fires? your platform is ready built and people already know how to operate it. you know how to do this... so do it... if you had done this, you could have saved lives. do it. now.

Not sure if automatic reporting to the emergency services is possible everywhere in the world, but at least having a popup containing all the needed information (gps coords, road you're on, distance to nearest town or nearest intersection with another road) would be useful.

For local emergencies, allow people to submit emergency/damage reports - fires, flooded roads, trees down, snowfall, etc. Provide this info to the public/public safety officials for observations and reports.

Sometimes we drive on the roads that we do not familiar with.
If we see an event like a fire or an accident, God forbid, and need to report to the emergency services. We can call of course, but the time it will take us to contact the Emergency Dispatch Center, explain what the problem it is and our location could take long time, and sometimes even cause sometimes to relinquishing desire to report.
I propose to insert a function of reporting to the emergency services with the option to choose what the emergency is.
The report will get to the center including the exact location of the event along with reporter phone number (which will be explained the information reported in prior to the report) to prevent false reports, and to allow emergency call centers to call the reporter for more details when necessary.

I had to post a "fog" alert under weather because of smoke covering the turnpike.

This recent news item shows the need to expand the alerting effort.

Also, the system has capability using JSON to automatically post Weather Service feeds, including the polygon, on a map.

Here in Sao Paulo, Brazil, we have several different type of fire along the highways as "queimadas" ( sugar cane crop burn ) or forest, high grass fire - this causes heavy smoke, ashes, and dangers, risks

Offer hazards such as traffic light out, lane closed, tree work, electrical work, gas company, fire, water department. It's nice to know exactly what's causing the slow down. It's not always construction.

I agree but specifically brush fires on the side of the road which are quite common in Southern California causing major back-ups.

I agree. I'd like to add an item to the proper place as well. For example, I see an accident on the opposite side of the freeway, if I add it, Waze uses my location on my side of the road. Further, one time I was driving and hadn't loaded Waze yet, I passed an accident but to report it where I was once Waze was running I couldn't move the marker to the appropriate location.

So Move or Place a hazard/incident wherever would be nice.

Need option to update Wazers with hazard (in this case major detour due to forest fire) even though not at that place on the map #YMM
