This would be a great feature! Like three different sounds, from deeper when you're at a distance from the curve, medium when you're approaching it and higher when you have to turn.

It would be nice to receive notifications from waze concerning my route to work in the morning before I even leave the house or turn on waze.

please turn this blasted navigation off! I know how to get to my job and house! I'm ready to uninstall waze.

And it would be great to have "Test Alerts" to make sure it is working when Waze is in the background/phone is locked. BUT, for now, a simple audio alerts option would be great!

Regarding the ALERTS only when not in Navigation mode. I read somewhere that it is already included but you still have to be in a navigation mode with the Sound turned Off and you Select Alerts..( I think that's mean the navigation sound will not be played but the route you have set will be shown ).

Is there anyway that I can select Alerts only when I have not programmed a navigation route and actually hear the Alerts?

I agree. This would be a significant improvement even for long repeated trips where wazers know the route-- that combined with commuting is 75% or my driving

I totally agree, would even like to have a full "traffic alert mode", which would mean no sound for guiddance but only (+pop up) for major alerts like accidents, and then a pop up to propose alternate direction -> if yes Waze goes back to guiddance mode to reroute

Also, I think it is essential that it remains easy to turn on/off the voice guidance. As you stated, I ALWAYS want alerts on (including police, traffic, re-routing) but when driving to/from work I don't need directions to interfere with music or phone calls. On the other hand, when driving to an unfamiliar place, I want to be able to push one button (the mute/unmute button) to re-enable guidance.

Yes, I was used to this functionality. Perhaps have a toggle in settings to decide whether audio alerts are ON or OFF when the mute button is toggled.

Also, I submitted a bug report as it seems audio alerts don't sound when the app is in the background, although navigation guidance does work in the background.

It will be very nice, if you could add ability to choose which voice alerts will be on and off. Since version 3.6 alerts are off while voice guide is off. This makes troubles. It will be nice to check police and camera trap alert on, while all others will be off.
