Mute button should be clearer
I thought Waze was broken!: As it is, the mute button on the top left of the main Menu is a picture of a speaker with sound waves whereas the unumute button has a mute icon on it. This made me interpret it backward and made me think my sound didn't work.
Instead, the mute button could always have a mute icon (a speaker with a slash through it) but should stay depressed (and maybe highlighted?) when muted. Alternately, you could use an iPhone-style on/off slider.

Now sound button allows you to choose one of 3 sound options – sound off, alerts only, sound on.

To add to this, the sound button is too small, it should be more prominent and easier to access. For me, and maybe others, I think it should just be press to mute sound and press again to unmute. Having multiple options is a distraction
