Add 'beep only' option to the sound options
I now have the options: no sound / alerts only / sound on. I'd like a quiet mode, but I don't want to miss navigation cues. A beep only mode would be nice.

Instead of having a voice telling you there is a hazard ahead, why not have a function that just dings instead of the voice.

Please add this! :)
I don't like the voice talking to me, but I would like to get an heads-up when I need to change direction. -

This would be AMAZING. When on road trips with little kids, there’s nothing worse than the voice waking them up …

Instead of voice make ability to choose 3 beep for all warnings.
....this is going to increase the hearing ability when driving -

Recommend an option for minimal voice directions or perhaps just a signal (maybe a beep or two?) shortly ahead of a turn. Voice directions can be excessive and turning them off results in missed turns. A happy medium would be great

Waze has 2 styles for navigation guidance:
1 is full voice alerts; and
2 is alerts only for hazards and missed turn/exit/...When normal navigation voice is selected, a voice will alert me of of an upcoming exit in 1 mile, then 1/4 of mile. sometimes a .1 mile and if another "turn" or "keep right" is after that, I might have 1-3 minutes of alerts and stopped music.
Because of this I mostly use Alerts Only but then this setting does not alert me of of upcoming turns unless I miss my exit. I must have the app open and must keep a vigilant eye on it.
If we were to have the same settings as full navigation voice BUT with a simple beep or sound instead of "Take exit #1 to St #2 East in 1 mile and then keep left" it would be the setting I would choose.
I want to know when a navigation event is coming but only with a beep sound.

An option to hear just the routing voice and not the alarm sound.

Yep, exactly the same here... Too long, too intrusive: Alerts (which I mostly keep enabled) as well as instructions. (which I mostly disabled)
Simple non-intrusive chimes (with possibly 1-3 tones) like the ones in the airplane cabins would be a fantastic improvement.
In additon: An option to disable audio ducking would be awesomeas well for podcast and music listening. -

I want this too. Technically, it's already possible to do. One would just have to record a new "voice" that would be nothing but beeps or some other non-obtrusive sound...but it would be nice if Waze just offered such a voice :)

This is one of the very few things I dislike about the app. I listen to podcasts when driving, so it is annoying if there is a break for several seconds. In fact, people read and progress information faster when it is presented in written text than when they are listening.
The beep of changing the mode (such as Alerts only) suffice. -

Another sound option to have a "ding" (or something similar) to notify the driver of upcoming driving actions (turns, exits, etc.) as opposed to Voice Nav is extremely desirable for me. It would be useful in providing the user the ability to still accurately know when to make the correct turns to get to their destination and avoiding the often lengthy voice directions that are often intrusive to consuming content in the car (podcasts, music, etc.) or intrusive to simply having conversation with company.

A beep only feature when sounds are turned off would be ideal. Waze interferes with the car music too often to keep the sounds on and oftentimes I end up missing turnes with the sound off. Would be ideal to have a simple beep warning for upcoming directions.

Would love a simple tone as a turn approaches. Too often even the curtest voice directions obscure my podcasts.

Keep the beep (traffic...) without voice
