Add me in on this as well. This new feature is horrible. I want to see the map, not 2 horizontal bars at the bottom of the screen taking up precious map real estate that doesn't really do anything and doesn't show me anything worthwhile while I'm driving.

I can't imagine what drove the development of such a horrible idea. What possible problem were you trying to resolve when you thought "Eh....Yeah, take up half the screen with toolbars in landscape mode. Probably no one uses it like that anyway."

I agree with all these comments. I am finding myself using another nav app more and more now when I want a map up but no destination input. What good, is the Waze map when 1/3 of it is hidden?

Is Waze coercing their users to only use the app if a searched destination is in mind, or are they collecting more destination data?

The move to implement 'my waze' (currently of little value to users) at the cost of a full screen map mode without destination is hopefully temporary regress.

Yeah this is truly awful, probably tested by someone using carplay or sum such.
Everything should fly away / reappear when you touch the screen. BUT I just don't understand the "my waze" bar? What's the purpose?

I agree, I use waze with an android head unit, this change has made it useless. Two search banners hides most of the map. I'll look to another map application

Such a big waste of space, please remove it. Sometimes I don't want to set a destination, and those bars hide the main reason of this app, the map itself.

PLEASE REMOVE THE NEW SEARCH BAR, IS NOT NEEDED AND IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE.

agree, can't understand why they removed the on/off button and why they made 2 different bars when that search bar could be integrated in my waze one

It seems like after the latest update the search bar takes up 1/3 of the screen in a horizontal orientation.
I understand this minimizes when a destination is added and followed but the app in not always used for point A to B traveling.
As an example, I use the app everyday for my 10 minute work commute. I don't need directions just police, safety, traffic, etc...
I believe the search bar should minimize in all modes (once underway) because drivers shouldn't be typing while driving anyway.

yes, fully agree... search bar and "my waze" is really big when not destination is set. Please hide it under small icon and make map view as large as possible. Hope this can be solved soon. Thank you.

You all are right! "my waze" and "search bar" are awful. Blocks half the map.

Sometimes part of the map slips underneath those Search, My Waze and Carpool bars and cannot be seen. Then the map is completely useless. In the past this did not hide the map.

In my car multimedia this bars takes half of the screen. Please make option to hide them!
