I found the data from Epicvin’s license plate lookup to be highly reliable. The information matched up with other sources, and I felt confident in the accuracy of the report https://epicvin.com/license-plate-lookup . This reliability was crucial in helping me decide on the vehicle I was interested in.

would be great if a direction arrow would appear on the police icon and perhaps show a couple of police icons along the road for a km or 2 after reporting location

Report police: Add a button to indicate if the police were moving in same direction as My travel, or B-Moving in the opposite direction. If moving, calculate position based on speed.

I think the police button is intended to report stationary police. Reporting of cars in transit will be helpful for only 3-5 min and it would not be possible to know route of car.
Happy wazzing!

Or you can add a button to report police in both directions at once.

I came here to suggest the same thing. In any two lane road, the police can monitor the traffic in either direction.

There are other requests to be able to report police on the other side or in the middle, which I definitely agree needs to be added, but this request is especially important, because it allows users to be warned regardless of how it was reported. I'd rather get a few false positives than false negatives.

I would like to be warned about police regardless of which side of the road the are reported being. Really, at least in my country the side of the road does not define the direction they are measuring speed.

I typically use Waze to track police and hazards but lately my state has been using much more aircraft based patrol. My recommendation is that once a user has reached the police checkpoint or signs that notify the drivers of aircraft patrol that a Waze user can flag the police presence and the app automatically posts a police airplane symbol 2 miles or so back from the flagged location. Often times it is far too late for the driver in this situation to react.
The other idea is to allow you to flag a police officer that is traveling near you or in the same direction. In this case, you could flag a moving police officer as you travel and that way both on coming and approaching vehicles will know there is a police presence in the area. It may be best to have this on either a timer or manual setting so users can drop the flag in the even to officer stops or turns off your path.
