Driving directions on virtual cockpit
Hey Wazers, I have found out, that when you use Apple Maps app through CarPlay, it is able to transfer information about next driving direction (for example "in 100m turn right" and an arrow) to the control unit of my car and it then shows it to me on my virtual cockpit. Since anothe iOS app can do this, I hope others should be able to, arent they? It will be really good to implement this...

Integrating turn-by-turn navigation into a car’s virtual cockpit is a great example of how automotive technology and mobile apps are converging. Apple Maps already sends “next turn” data through CarPlay so that the direction arrow and distance appear directly on the instrument cluster—something many drivers now expect from all navigation apps. Expanding this capability to other services like Waze or Google Maps would offer drivers a more seamless, heads-up experience without diverting attention to a separate screen.

That’s an interesting observation! The ability of Apple Maps via CarPlay to project driving directions directly onto the virtual cockpit definitely shows how technology is evolving to enhance both convenience and safety for drivers. If Apple Maps can already do this, it opens the door for other navigation apps, like Waze, to integrate similar features and make real-time guidance even more seamless.

That’s a great observation! Integrating driving directions into the virtual cockpit really improves safety and comfort since you don’t need to take your eyes off the road. If Apple Maps is already able to push this data through CarPlay, it shows that the capability exists—so it would make sense for other navigation apps like Waze to adopt similar functionality. It’s all about making the driving experience smarter, more connected, and less distracting.

Whether it's car play or <a href="https://bussltimateapk.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">bus play</a>
, driving directions always matter. The mod version doesn’t matter much because it removes driving laws. -

Please @devteam provide an update on planning for this item. In certain vehicles that support instrument cluster CarPlay and android auto maps this
functionality is much desired and
awaited for Waze -

1.5 years later, this is still not implemented? Is it even on the roadmap?

Upvote. Actually even google maps does this in iOS so it wouldn’t be impossible for Waze to replicate its cousin :)
