Waze on Android auto is a solid start, but it's missing some critical functionality.

1) Adding Stops: I recently tried to search for gas stations along the way while on a trip. Waze showed me gas stations where I've already been. Not great.

2) Liking Other Reports: Waze will give you a pop-up on the bottom left of your screen on Android auto when there's a report that needs your input. E.g. a stopped car, a speed trap, etc. however, if you try to click the icon of a pre-existing report from another user on the map so you can up-vote it — nothing happens.
