I drive with voice and sounds on mute to not interrupt music and conversations.
I think it would be efficient and helpful to have an option of a little gong only 300m before a turn or a note about the ride. BUT just one, to give drivers an option to remember to look at the navigation route without really "annoying" the driver with loads of information...
