I want to thank the users and the administrator for changing the instruction when a turn is needed a long distance away. Originally, it used to communicate the turn in terms of duration. I suggested that it would be better to communicate the turn in terms of distance. Again, thank you for making that change.

When there is a car on the side of the road, the voice that alerts us by saying, "WATCH OUT!" is too alarming. It scares me and enhances the possibility of having an accident. Instead, the alert should be said in a less alarming voice.

My wife and I enjoy using Waze when we travel. However, we are often startled when the app suddenly announces, "Watch out! Vehicle reported on shoulder ahead!".

As a retired human factors psychology professional with over 25 years experience in Voice User Interface design and usability testing, I encourage you to change this notifications method.

There is no reason to announce the parked vehicle with, "Watch out!". Please consider simply saying, "Vehicle reported on shoulder ahead".

Alternatively, and even better, please consider introducing an audio-icon, that signals, "Attention", some sort of sound that commands attention without alarming the user:

"Ding": "Vehicle reported on shoulder ahead".

The "WATCH OUT" announcement warning about a car on the shoulder SCARES US TO DEATH! The beginning of WATCH is just TOO LOUD!!

I agree with the recommendation to change the phrase “watch out “ to something less jarring. On a recent trip we used Google Maps and liked their phrases so much better that we may stop using Waze.

Hey Waze,
When giving a Warning and using 'WATCH OUT!!!!" as the alert , its over kill . This is used when there's a car
on the side of the road/Hwy , it's tooooo over the top for a simple " There's a car on the side of the road"
or Caution, car on the side if the road.

Use 'WATCH OUT!!!" sparingly, like a flipped over car ahead, or horses in the middle of the road ( or sheep, or deer or, dogs, or ___________________ fill in the blank.

WATCH OUT ( for me) is startling. We get enough of that just listening to the news!

I think you can keep the alert just drop the “watch out”

I am a 75-year-old senior and I use ways for the last couple of years for my out-of-town trips. Recently I was on my trip when all of a sudden a voice shouted at me saying "WATCH OUT!!!!"..... there's road construction ahead. This startled me so bad that I swerved on the road. And it continued to happen to me all through the trip but I never got used to it it still scared the **** out of me. I would like to strongly recommend a change in this voice command to a very calmly statement that says " warning...... road construction ahead" if you cannot do this please let me know so that I can change back to my Google Maps.

Please stop using the “watch out!” Notification. It’s startling. Maybe suggest “caution” or “heads up”

Say "vehicle on shoulder" instead of "watch out" statement is to alarming. I jump when I hear it.

My wife and I both find ourselves startled and alarmed by the sudden "Watch Out!" voice alert for such things as cars pulled off to the side of the road or an upcoming train track. We don't mind being informed, but save the startle alerts for real road problems. Even the words "watch out" could be used in a calmer manner and still adequately warn of things to be aware of.

My husband uses waze and the WATCH OUT warnings trigger my anxiety so much that I won't DL it for myself until there's at least an option to change it. "Caution" would be a good replacement.

ABSOLUTELY AGREE!! The "watch out" causes a startle reflex for most people. Change wording to "Caution"

Maybe the word “ Caution” can be used instead of “ Watch Out” I jump everytime & keep thinking I’m about to be hit by another car. Very startling, thank you.
