As of now, the user must head to the “Plan a drive” feature in order to plan a route starting from a different location of his current location. In addition, to actually see the route and it’s milestones, the user have to complete the flow for “Plan a drive”, save it and then click on it again. Only then the route is showing up..
It is not intuitive at all.

My suggestion is this-
After opening the app, the user is simply choosing a location (not through the “Plan a drive” flow) using the search box on the top. Once the location is selected, a new screen is showing up with the starting point and the destination on top of the screen. Until now, I have described the current implemented flow of the app.
Now let’s talk about the actual change: I suggest that both of these locations on the top (starting point and destination) should be available to adjust. This is making life easier and the flow will be pretty similar to the Google Maps flow which is used by the majority of the users.
