'Replace generic "Wazer" chat icons with user profile pictures' has been merged into this idea

Allow people to upload their own Waze profile picture (like their car) to get easily identified while driving...

Hi people. Please forgive me for my average English, I'm a French Waze user...

At the moment, the only way to display a picture when clicking on a Wazer is to link your Facebook account with your Waze client.

I guess that a lot of people (like me) don't want to link their Facebook profile with the Waze client or they don't own one.

My idea => Create a function on the Waze client to allow people to upload their own pictures.

The goal => When a Wazer is in the vicinity of your location, you can click on it and also see if his / her car has already passed you...

Funny and interesting function, isn't it?!

    This idea was raised by gncnpk at the 2026 NA Mega Meet-up

    Currently, the Waze chat displays a generic blue-and-white Wazer icon for all users, making it difficult to distinguish between different people at a glance. It would be beneficial to have this icon replaced by actual user profile pictures.

    This would improve visual clarity and help manage multiple conversations more effectively.

    Bonjour I totally agree with you. My problems is I refuse to have an Facebook nor Twitter account so I like to be able to add a pic to my Waze account without Dealing with Facebook or Twitter ????

    This is a horrible waste of data. Not everyone can afford huge buckets of data.

    This frippery will waste [my] bandwidth, and create needless gpu load.

    To be identifiable driving install GLYMPSE [sic], create a Glympse Group, and invite your friends to use your Glympse Group
