Live Average Speed Tracking in Section Control Zones
Waze currently displays the instantaneous speed, which is helpful for fixed speed cameras. However, in Average Speed Check zones (section control), knowing the current speed is not enough.
I suggest that Waze should calculate and display the actual average speed from the start of the measured section to the current point.
How it should work:
When entering a section control zone, a secondary indicator should appear showing the cumulative average speed for that specific stretch.
This would allow drivers to see if their overall average is above the limit, even if their instantaneous speed is currently legal.
The indicator could be placed as a small badge next to the progress bar or integrated into the speedometer display.
Why this matters:
Without this, drivers often have to guess or do mental math to ensure they haven't exceeded the average limit due to a faster start at the beginning of the zone. This feature would promote much smoother and safer driving behavior.
