New danger type: Ford (road crossing low water/river)
New danger type: Ford (road crossing low water / river)
Proposal:
Add a new fixed danger category in WME for "Ford" crossings (roads that pass through shallow water, seasonal streams, wadis, or low-water river crossings).
Reasoning:
Ford crossings present a unique and recurring road hazard that is not fully covered by existing danger categories. These locations can become dangerous due to weather changes, flooding, water depth variation, reduced traction, or limited vehicle capability.
Benefits:
Improves driver awareness before reaching the crossing
Helps prevent vehicles entering unsafe water conditions
Particularly useful in rural, desert, mountainous, and seasonal flood areas
Supports regions where paved bridges are unavailable and water crossings are part of normal routing
Improves routing quality and hazard information consistency
Provides better information for motorcycles, low-clearance vehicles, and drivers unfamiliar with local terrain
Implementation possibility:
Add "Ford / Water Crossing" as a selectable fixed hazard type within WME fixed dangers, similar to existing permanent hazard categories.
behavior:
Hazard icon visible on map and navigation screen
Optional seasonal severity attributes if future development allows
Examples:
Low-water crossings
Riverbed road crossings
Seasonal wadis
Roads designed to cross shallow streams without a bridge
This addition would improve safety and map quality, especially in regions where ford crossings are common and represent a known recurring driving risk.

best regards.
