Feature Request: Introduce Dimension-Based Vehicle Routing for Japan and Asia
Dear Waze Team,
I would like to propose the introduction of dimension-based vehicle restrictions.
Currently, Waze primarily relies on vehicle categories and passes, which work well in many Western regions. However, in Japan and much of Asia, road restrictions are strictly based on physical dimensions—specifically height, width, weight, and vehicle length.
Because current categories cannot fully account for these physical limitations, large vehicles often face risks or get stuck on unsuitable roads.
Proposed Solution:
Map Data: Allow map editors to configure road segments with specific limits for height, width, weight, and length.
User Input: Allow users to input their vehicle’s physical dimensions within the app.
Implementing this would significantly improve safety and navigation accuracy for trucks and large vehicles in Asia, creating a more consistent global experience. Thank you for considering this improvement.
