Trust the Detour: Waze Should Show Real-Time Savings for Alternative Routes"
In France, during major vacation departures, Waze often suggests alternative routes that are supposedly faster—sometimes even taking you off the highway. But how can drivers trust that this detour is actually a good idea?
My proposal: Waze should automatically share the actual time saved (or lost) with users who took the suggested alternative. Here’s how it could work: Waze identifies a few vehicles heading to the same destination that didn’t take the detour, then compares their travel times with mine if I accept the alternative. Simple, transparent, and trust-building!
