Today, when a user sets a destination that can only be reached via private roads, Waze gives no indication of this. Drivers simply follow the route "blind" and end up on roads they should not be using — for example, roads open to residents only.

I would like to see a warning implemented in two places:

1. When navigation starts, if the calculated route includes one or more private road segments.
2. Again at a reasonable distance before the driver actually reaches the private section.

Suggested wording:

"Heads up: reaching this destination requires driving on private roads, which may require permission to enter."

Why this matters:

• It prevents drivers from unknowingly trespassing on restricted or residents-only roads.
• It reduces friction between drivers and local residents, which is a recurring source of complaints against navigation apps.
• It lets the driver decide up front whether to continue, look for an alternative destination point, or arrange access in advance.

Waze already stores private road attributes in the map data and already avoids routing through them where possible, so the information needed for this warning is available — it just isn't surfaced to the driver today.
