Since a recent update, Waze has become significantly harder to operate through the rotary iDrive controller in my 2024 BMW X5 using Apple CarPlay.

The following problems occur:

1. When a road hazard or incident notification appears, it is difficult or sometimes impossible to access and respond to the notification using the vehicle’s rotary controller.
2. When creating a new road report, the selection focus opens on seemingly random menu items rather than consistently starting at the first item.
3. Navigation between menu items is unpredictable, and some controls cannot be selected without touching the vehicle’s display.

Previously, these interactions worked reliably.

This is a serious usability and driving safety regression because it forces drivers to look at and interact with the touchscreen instead of using the vehicle’s physical controls.

Please investigate the CarPlay focus navigation behavior, restore predictable menu ordering and selection, and ensure that all interactive elements are fully accessible through rotary controllers.
