Ability to select the types of hazards to enable/disable
Sometimes, certain hazards are not very helpful and are more of a distraction than anything. For example, vehicles stopped on the shoulder, weather, and missing sign are not very important and I dismiss them every time I see it. At times I feel like disabling hazards altogether.
Great news! The ability to disable individual alert notifications is now available in Waze. Install the latest app version to check it out.

And certainly don't make me acknowledge whether it's still there or not before the window goes away

Many alerts like car on, side of the road are not helpful and are more distracting. It would be good if you could choose which alerts to allow.

The "reports ahead" tab seems to show everything along the road.
This adds noisy information on long trips with no value.is it useful to know there is a missing sign 130 miles away, or a car stopped 160 miles away?
Instead, filter alerts based on distance.
Something like (illustrative, not meant to be exhaustive):
>150 miles away: nothing
< 150 miles away: heavy traffic
< 50 miles away: fog
< 25 miles away: police,
< 10 miles: everything -

Chicago has red light cameras at most lights. Waze is constantly warning me about them while driving, which is more annoying and distracting than helpful

Please allow option to turn off or change sound for railroad crossing. Its startling and annoying when you are driving in deep silence!! We much prefer the previous voice reminder which was annoying but less upsetting. I choice between sounds, voice or mute would be appreciated.

As someone who enjoys using Waze, I'm about at my wits' end with respect to receiving red light notifications. I drive to work on US Route 12 in northern Illinois. Durimg this stretch of roadway, there happens to be a red light camera about every 1/4 mile. I can't tell you HOW ANNOYING it is to have your music stop playing and listen to "Red Ligjt Camera ahead", over and over and over. I'm struggling to understand why this feature can't be disabled? You can disable just about everything except for red light cameras. I've looked on the internet and there have been folks asking to disable this feature for years and years. Please tell me why this feature is not allowed to be disabled?

There are specific locations of train crossings and red light cameras that I would like to have no notifications for. I’d like the notifications to happen for areas that I don’t normally commute to. But the areas near my home and the roads during my daily commute I’d like to mute. It just seems silly to keep getting reminders for a red light camera near my home. I’m well aware of that red light camera. If I could mute that specific light or even the area near my home, it would be amazing.

Allow Users to mute certain functions. Such as “car stopped and shoulder ahead”.
There’s 3-4 cars tagged a mile where I live. #annoying

Red Light Camera alerts. I honestly don't believe Waze cares about us Waze users as even my local editor doesn't think they will implement a seperate red light camera alert setting. They still believe that by turning off Speed camera alerts it will stop the RED LIGHT CAMERA alerts..wrong Waze.
Can't believe they think so little of us..Very dissapointing Waze.. -

Currently (2021) unless I mute all road warnings/alerts goodies sound with a VERY loud sound. Much louder than the alerts.
I don't want any sound alerts that aren't road related. But according to technical support there is no way to silence them.
So suggesting: Ability to mute goodies separate from alerts.

Ability to disable "Red Light Camera" voice alerts.
Turning off "Speed Camera Alerts" & all other alerts under settings does not disable Red Light Camera voice alerts.
Please add a toggle to settings to turn Red Light Camera voice alerts off. Pleeeeeeeeeeease..... -

Just like you can turn off speed camera notifications/reports and railroad reports, I'd like to also turn off red light camera reports. I know where they all are and I don't need to be told about right cameras in two minutes 😂

As a truck driver, these alerts are great for us. A lot of times trucks are broken down or other passenger type vehicles. A law in any state I have traveled, is for drivers to move over to allow the disabled vehicles room for repairs/towing and to be able to do so safely without worrying about drivers who aren’t paying attention to crash into them. If you’ve never needed to repair your vehicle on the side of the road, good for you. But, add semi’s that are 80,000 lbs of rolling steel, usually at speeds of 70mph, plus all the texting drivers or dangerous weather, etc and it is extremely dangerous as you all speed by. Yes, it happens every day, without varying weather conditions too. Again, as a truck driver, move over and let these vehicles have the space the law asks for. While I see this is distracting, it is needed for most drivers. Not in every instance is the vehicle completely on the shoulder and not every shoulder has a lot of space when your back is turned changing tires etc.
