Using location other than current location as starting point
I would like to be able to enter a location other than my current one to check routes for others.

Great news! Setting a different start point is now available in Waze. Install the latest app version to check it out.

Please, please make it easier to plan a route from a different location to another different location. It is not user friendly at all and everyone I know has a difficult time. Currently it is only set up to plan a drive from the current location to another location. Need to be able to enter two different locations. Thank you.

Please enhance the start point feature to allow you to enter the location you want to start at versus the app automatically starting from the GPS'd current location.

I often want to investigate alternative ways of getting from somewhere to my present location to somewhere else. Google and Apple maps deal with this perfectly easily. But Waze only offers a “route planning” option that is really clunky, insisting on a start time and calculating a route from my present location before I can change the start point. Then I found it difficult to get it to save the new start point. “Save” does not show you the route. It is eventually possible to see the route but it is not intuitive at all. So by the time you have changed the start or finish point, you have forgotten the first route!

While it's generally best to use your current location for accurate results, there are valid reasons to choose another starting point—like planning travel, checking routes for family, or coordinating with others. On platforms like https://www.AllWorld.com , this flexibility enhances convenience. Just use it responsibly with honest, practical intent.

Current method for changing starting point is not very intuitive or easy to figure out. Copy google maps and make it much easier for users to specify a starting point other than the current location.

You need to incorporate the ability to program a start point other than your current location when planning a trip. For example, if I am sitting at my girlfriend's house in Brockway, PA., but would like to plan a trip leaving from my home in Force, PA., currently there is no way to do that 😕.

Make it easy to set a different start location.
Waze is so clunky and time consuming that I now use maps much more - which I don’t like -

That's a fantastic idea to enhance Waze's functionality! Being able to input a different starting point and see the estimated travel time based on a future time would be incredibly helpful for planning trips around traffic conditions. It would allow users to make more informed decisions about when to leave and which route to take, especially when anticipating heavy traffic on the return journey.
Implementing this feature would not only improve the user experience but also provide a valuable tool for optimizing travel plans. Hallo liebes Waze Team
Es wäre super wenn es eine Möglichkeit gäbe einen anderen Startpunkt in der IOS Version auswählen zu können als nur den eigenen Standort.

Can set the starting point ourself, the starting point does not have to be the current location. This will make it easier for us to query

I would like to be able to map a drive from one place to another unrelated to where I am currently located. I just want to know how long it will take with tolls and avoiding tolls. Either this is not a feature we are able to use. Or it is so difficult to find it can’t be used. Please work on this because it is a feature I often would like to use.
Thank you -

I’d like to be able to enter a route with a different starting point than I am presently in. This way I can schedule a drive from that location and know how long it will take. Similar to google maps feature.

I am not sure at which version this ux changed, and I haven't found the time to check it, but I guess it's minor :)
The "set start point, report a problem etc" menu is no longer easily accessible for "quick" locations which are tagged as "history"(already visited).
Instead, it has to be long clicked -> info, and only then this "more" menu appears.(which has to be clicked once more..)
This menu used to be easily accessed/navigated to, by 2 clicks, and now it is more like 4, and so along with this, long tapping while sitting in a car, getting ready to go, is neither ergonomic nor easy, and so I would classify it as a bad user experience. The menu is suggested/prompted more easily only for new locations, after searching and clicking on them.
It is also worth noting that although being a mobile developer, it took me a while to understand that a new long click gesture has been introduced. (I can't recall a feature opt-in/announcement for this one)
I understand the behavioural change/need of easily getting navigation routes on first click on a history location, but I can't see the reasoning for removing the old-integrated menu from there.

This is not working on the app. You can do alternate routes on desktop version. This is a pain. This is a simple everyday feature not sure why this is not already being used.

If I wanted to drive from a different starting point to my current location, have the option to see what the traffic times would be. It works now, but just without a different starting point.
Ex. I want to go to a store usually 45 min away but I know traffic is bad on the way home. I want to be able to plan my initial trip based on how much time/traffic I would encounter going home.
