In place of the ding for being over the speed limit replace it with an option for a voice announcement such as "The speed limit is 60 Km/h"

Needs voice warning for speed cameras, whether you are speeding or not! Vehicle speed may change just prior to passing a speed camera. Also, would be a good idea to alert the driver, regardless of which side of the road the speed camera is located.

Waze Portugal já sugeri em outras ocasiões, inclusive por e-mail, o Waze ao avisar de um radar informar por voz o limite de velocidade dessa via. Evitava ter que olhar para o ecrã desviando os olhos da estrada. Fica a sugestão. Parabéns pelo excelente trabalho.

Durante la navegación en ruta, no avisa de los radares mediante voz, se limita a hacerlo de forma visual y siempre tienes que estar mirando la pantalla. Solo avisa por voz cuando rebasas el límite. Estaría bien que avisara por voz en todo momento

Please add voice alerts for camers. For example if there is a speed camera the voice alert should say

approching speed camera 30mph zone. And repeat twice

The camera alerts on carplay only works when you are over the speed limit. Please make the alert regardless of speed! Sometimes your speed increases after the camera meter countdown popup and you start to increase without knowing there is a camera.

I second this request, speed cameras sound alerts is why I use waze over google maps, without it it provides little value to me.

It's also forcing me to be looking at the map way more often, making my driving dangerous.

Currently there is no speed camera alert if you are driving below the speed limit. Add an option to warn us at all times, even if we are not speeding.

Currently when you are driving within the limits you are not getting and audio alert when approaching a speed camera. It can frequently happen that one accelerates at the same time and is not getting notified on the camera.

It would be great to give us a choice over this setting and add an option for the users to either force audio alerts "always" or only when the speed is exceeded.

It'd be helpful if Ella or another Admin could update the community as to why it was available then not, and if it will return one day ... permanently.

I seem to remember it was very briefly added in a beta version, but was removed again afterwards for some reason. Some countries have now decided that people should always get an alert for a speed camera (usually countries with not too many such cameras), while others have kept the alert configuration the same for their country (only add an audio alert when speeding).

This evidently should just be a user setting, and I also don't consider this idea as "now available".

This was supposedly an added feature back around Feb 2023. It's Jan 2025 and I can't see how to set this in either Android or IOS, and neither seem to always sound alerts for speed cameras. All handsets are set the same ...

Activeer een stemgeluid voor alle flitspalen ongeacht de gereden snelheid. Momenteel is dit actief enkel indien snelheidslimiet is overschreden. Ik zou een auditieve melding willen ontvangen bij elke flitspaal ik tegenkom. Ik wil mijn ogen op de baan houden, dus een visuele melding is onvoldoende

Currently, speed camera voice alerts only sound if you are exceeding the speed limit. It should be possible to configure an optional setting where the speed camera alert always sounds, regardless of whether you are above or below the speed limit. This is because you might be driving below the speed limit just before passing the camera, so the alert doesn’t sound, and you’re unaware of its presence. If you then accelerate and pass the camera, you could exceed the speed limit. For this reason, I believe there should be an option to always enable the alert.

Now I use another app in the background just to have this option. I think it is very important to implement this option.
