Traffic Reporting
users report traffic even at 2am on an empty street as heavy or even standstill just to get points.
Recommend a change where the user only presses a button that says "report traffic". Then the app over 3 minutes send location and speeds to server and server decides based on reported speed vs posted speed, the heaviness of traffic. At 80% if posted a peed you mark "moderate". At 60% it's "heavy" and at 40%, it's at a "standstill".
Great news! The feature where reporting Traffic Jam's severity based on speedometer reading is now available in Waze. Install the latest app version to check it out.

This plus: If there are other people driving through the reported traffic, their speed should automatically be measured and added to get an average of the speed you can drive at the moment.

how about an option to 'Cancel Traffic' report i.e., when the lane is still in the red on the app but when in actuality as you drive the traffic is not that severe or no traffic at all.

I stopped using Waze because of all those who treat it like a game for points. This idea is superb as it initiates a data point, but an automated algorithm validates and determines the reporting value.

The reason it should be over multiple speed readings in say 3 minutes is because then someone can't just report traffic erroneously while at a stoplight. Also, once a person reports traffic, the app should send multiple readings over say 10 minutes so that the updates are more accurate and aggregation is timely.
