Police on the move and what side
Police on the move: I would put an option on the police spotter that shows moving/same side or moving/other side of the road. The app can see what direction/side the motorist is on, it would be a simple change to show that the police are moving on your side or other.

Many times I find police cars next to me or just ahead of me in transit. It would be nice to have the option to flag this and Waze to have then an predicted area of +/- 2 miles of the report as a slow down alert zone. It would prevent people from being caught unaware by a cop behind you.

Good idea. If you could repor mobile police vehicles as heading your way or in the opposite direction then other waxers would know that they were on the move and which way. Then could update with input as suggested by the previous person.

Police are learning to not sit in one place since there are so many wazers tagging them. They now troll down the freeway in sections going 10-15 mph under the speed limit waiting on an unsuspecting driver to fly up behind them. They usually stick to a section of road between overpasses, so alert wazers when approaching the general area.

On the police tab you need to have patrolling other side patrolling this side add

so sometimes when people post a " police on side of the road " the police car is really traveling like east or west. It would be nice to post " police ahead traveling west ) so you know they are moving

It would be helpful to all Wazers if we could have a feature added of Police On Road.
How this would work is, let’s say I am driving on any road and I either see a police car ahead of me, behind me or all of a sudden one drives along with me. I would then press the added feature for Polina on Road, and the map would start recording and showing maybe in blue color or any other color, up to the point where I press the button to stop recording the distance/ way we were going, once either I turn onto another street and no longer driving alongside the police car or the police car turns, stops at store, gas station, parking lot, etc. OR driving on the highway, I would press start once I see the cop driving along side me, and then stop once either I get off the highway or the police does or if the plaice car stops and parks to radar.
This way it allows for everyone to know where the police is or has been present recently, and there could be an added feature for the next person who sees the cop car again driving alongside them from point where I stopped because I turned, and they can continue recordingThis allows for drivers ahead to also know if there is police driving same way as them behind them which then cause them to be more cautious and slow down.
Thanks!

It would be nice to report Police patrol cars that are on the road with you.

Brilliant, just thought of it as when the police car is moving in one direction, "blue ahead arrows" like the ones that indicate the speed of traffic, but it would go faster and mybe brighter.
For the convince which helps the driver shoot such a worning quickly, the icon could be a separate indicator on the main map...or .......simply....by shooting the Reports button upward. And everyone ahead receives the fast blue arrow along the way.
Or some other better way, but it would be of great service to must.

Allow a shadow police indicator that indicates recent police activity in area and movement along a route.

1. When searching for a route/overview, like to get a summary of Speed camera, police, accidents along the route, so that I can choose the best route.
2. In the range of speed camera or traffic light, I prefer audio alarm.
3. Requesting Special Icon for “mobile speed camera”.
4. “Back ground operation” of Waze would be a good feature.
It’s a wonderful App, congratulations! -

Everything on the Police is not as clear as it should be when it comes to getting speeding tickets we need to be able to decipher whether or not the police officer is sitting still or he is driving because this changes the location that you see the police constantly

Can you guys add a moving target icon (police) with editable speed and direction?

Absolutely +N for this.
Currently the function is garbage, cops are not idiots, they of course can open the app and get themselves outta the original location. And how do people define visible or hidden? If a cop is hidden, how could I spot it? Or do you mean undercover? Marking an undercover police brings risks to both of us as well!

Absolutely add this. Basically the only thing your missing.

This would be a great additional feature!

Additional feature: Police menu, “driving same direction” or “driving other direction”...
How it works: The “driving police icon” would move on the map in the direction and suggested speed limit. It would start to fade over 5 minutes unless another WAZER confirmed the police again. When confirmed again, the timer resets for another 5 minutes.
Voice commands from WAZE: "Police driving toward you"... ..."Police driving behind you"... ..."police driving ahead of you"...
Part 2. If WAZER clicks "driving same direction" the app will notify WAZER after 4 minutes of driving and ask if the police officer is still moving the same direction as you. Then "thumbs up" or "X"...

Same!
Can not believe it has been years! I was reporting cops on the other side but then found Waze erroneously put the icon on my side facing other side. But actually, Wazers on the other side cannot see the report!

Having the police ICON with movement lines would be one improvement, but have the icon actually moving would be best. Since the calculation for ETA is largely base upon posted speeds, why not have the Moving Police ICON flashing and moving at that speed on the map. If the car stops, Wazers can then click on a stopped button if the Police stop in the median or have pulled someone over.

I understand the concern for safety around individuals in law enforcement, as several of my family members are included in that group, and they do great work!; however it is important to realize and understand that the state has a monopoly on force. There are more of them than there are of us and there is no trend indicating that the monopoly of force will ease up on issues such as speeding tickets given out for the sole purpose of revenue building or the mass incarceration of our fellow American citizens for non-violent crimes such as possession of marijuana. We are already allowed to listen to police radio, and most police wear bodycams... For the sake of transparency, wouldn't it be beneficial for the public to know where their public servants are?

Allow the ability to specify where the police are like on the app.
Like other side of road, hidden etc....
