Police on the move and what side
Police on the move: I would put an option on the police spotter that shows moving/same side or moving/other side of the road. The app can see what direction/side the motorist is on, it would be a simple change to show that the police are moving on your side or other.

i was thinking the same thing. people mark where they see a police car that one time. the police is cruising the stretch of highway and may stop somewhere else down the road. if someone comes along later they will probably not see the police car in the same position. like this: http://university-park.org/pictures/waze/police_zone0.png
i was thinking that if there are a couple of sightings that the road would be highlighted in the same way that a section of road is highlighted for heavy traffic. it would look like this:
http://university-park.org/pictures/waze/police_zone1.pngwhatever length of time is used to maintain sightings would also be used to remove the highlight. this way we can have a warning area were drivers should be extra vigilant.

Hey last thing not to add to the idea at all but the reason for adding being able to move the spot where I pick police is, many times when I see a cop I want to report it but my phone is on the passenger seat. I know that if I grab it and try to hit the button it's going to be 3 or 4 miles in the wrong place. so at that point I figured it's worse to put a wrong location of a police then the right place.. and I don't bother. You probably would get a tremendous amount more reporting if people were able to pick the spot where they saw the police. also when I see police and somebody else report it I hardly ever see if there's comments and like I was saying on the other idea of the moving police is if you're able to pick the spot and a cop is following you like somebody else suggested and you really don't want to pick up your phone, you can just wait until he is no longer following you or he's no longer in visual sight of you and you can pick up the phone please where the police were and if it's a police that are moving if there's another icon for that type of police being present anybody will know to look under that type of police icon for comments okay sorry I did Overkill because I'm talking into text and I didn't think it all out before I post it so thank you guys and ladies

Just like this text that I created are this post I created, I talked in the text and I hate the way it sounds and it's not concise. I could delete it and I really don't feel like rewriting it but you got the basic idea is actually three ideas. But under a comment if you try to do that and it doesn't make sense or you doing it real fast you should just be able to delete it and redo it

This would help tremendously. Two things regarding police reporting. The first is you should be allowed to go back and move your spot of where you pick police are. I was just in an area where there was no service and a cop was about three to four miles back where I saw him and I posted there was existing police and they weren't there if I was able to move the location it would be tremendous help. Second thing is when posting a comment under my marker I talked in a taxed and realize that it was totally wrong. As the creator of the comment I should be able to delete comments that were wrong. last thing actually I just thought of which would be very helpful would be two more police categories you have hidden and non hidden but you should really have one for moving police. What police have been doing recently is driving an unmarked cars and staying within a perimeter. If you had something that showed a police moving rather than just your regular police sign then you could look under everybody will know to look under the comments for the type of car and whatever else people can pick up as far as information. If you change these three things it would be tremendous

About 75% of the police warning signs I see end up having no police anywhere around where it is posted dot it is probably people flagging police that are driving along in traffic. Waze knows how fast the traffic flow is so if they have a police in traffic icon it could move with the flow of traffic

It would be great if there was an option to capture a “Drive Along Police Car”. Often times, police car is on the highway alongside of us, and it is difficult to identify them.

The only options I see are to report stopped police. It would be nice to have an option to report police that are traveling with or faster than prevailing traffic. That police car could then be shown moving on Waze.

I came here to suggest the same thing. In the USA police often don't park or hide, they simply cruise up and down the interstate or highway. It would be very helpful to be able to select MOVING SAME DIRECTION or MOVING OPPOSITE DIRECTION.
The Same Direction could be centered on the Wazer (or Wazers) who report the police as in sight.
The Opposite Direction could move along the reported route at the posted speed limit in the opposite direction of the Wazer reporting it. Like/Don't Like Updates would take care of turn offs, stops, etc. -

I totally agree that some method of reporting moving police cars is needed.
Same direction as Wazer (report centered on current position of Wazer).
Opposite direction of Wazer (report travels opposite direction of Wazer at posted speed limit).Having to drop multiple reports to indicate current location for a moving vehicle is ludicrous.

Right now, when sending "other side" report (available for police and accident only) being on one-way segment (for example on highway), the report is placed to the segment we're driving, not the opposite-direction segment nearby. Please fix this.

I would love this same option actually came to submit same idea. It is much needed. Because they do radar with flow and i cannot use hidden or visible as people will down vote it. I was going to say. "police in traffic." In my city police love to use ford explorers or for mustangs and radar with the flow of traffic. They rarely but sometimes do pace you with out radar and this is allowed in my city. Buy my radar does catch them in traffic as they don't use instant on laser/lidar. Also another idea is less needed but a lot of times since i have a very good radar the "valentine 1" cops like to sit on side of road but not radar. Like doing paper work or taking a short break or such. So maybe have the option of "police on side of road but no radaring present" which also could cause false negatives maybe....

There are too many options for "Send a report", particularly for a DRIVER. Can you make 2 menus to choose from? One for a DRIVER and one for a PASSENGER?
Also, the "Police" reporting is terrible. It makes ZERO difference if the police is "visible" or "hidden." FAR more valuable would be if the Police was STOPPED (on the side of the road) or MOVING with traffic. Please fix these two things! -

There are a number of hazards which are not stationary. Police are often on the move on expressways. Road work, large vehicles using more than one lane, and farm vehicles are often on the road for miles and are not where they were initially discovered. Add a moving capability and perhaps an estimated speed. When it is no longer there users can give the 👎🏻.

I would like to see “in motion” with traffic button to give oncoming traffic to slow down. Or “in motion” against traffic to allow people behind me the police are traveling there way.
Waze can calculate this by the speed limit giving a 2-3 mile window and once Waze users start acknowledging them recalculate the speed.
I drive a Mercedes Benz S63 AMG and I drive it like they are designed pedal to the metal. I just ordered the new AMG GT R so this will be more important feature. -

If space is a problem, remove "Hidden." Make 2 choices selectable together (i.e., "Moving" and "Other Side"). Have "Moving" expire quicker than standard.

Look higher up in the suggestions. I just saw one basically the same as is and it had >700 votes.

Cops are mobile... if they are cruising on the road then it would be nice to have an icon that shows a moving smokey.

I came here to suggest the same thing. Would be great to have a feature that would tell folks if police were traveling northbound etc. Amusing are the people saying the police feature should be removed. LOL. Statist gonna state!
