Option to minimize or hide the turn instruction banner in Apple CarPlay
Hello,
Please add an option to minimize or hide the large black turn instruction banner in Apple CarPlay.
I use Waze on a 6.25-inch Carpuride W602S Pro motorcycle display. The banner showing the next turn and distance takes up a large part of the screen and hides useful map information. On a motorcycle, having a clear view of the map is especially important for safety.
It would be very helpful to have three display options:
- Full banner
- Compact banner
- Hidden banner, with voice instructions only

Carplay dark mode
The home and volume / alert buttons in CarPlay dark mode have a grey background and black text. This is very difficult to read. The CarPlay UI button colours, contrast and sizing for volume limit would not pass any modern accessibility check such as WCAG 2.2.
Please review to make this excellent app even better.

Let me turn off the popups out of app while using carplay
The constant popups when i choose to leave the app in carplay for any reason are infuriating and makes using the car interface rather than picking up my phone less safe.
My reasoning for this is simple, i KNOW that my turn is coming up in half a mile, let me take not even 3 seconds to call my brother and my eyes are back on the road, that should be how it works but it simply isnt, every millisecond after you clear the popup it simply comes up with another and then i have to clear that… so on…

Lorsque ma voiture est connectée à CarPlay, la sortie audio est automatiquement imposée par CarPlay et il n’est plus possible de la modifier.
Je souhaiterais donc vous soumettre une suggestion d’amélioration à transmettre à vos développeurs : permettre à l’utilisateur de choisir sa sortie audio même lorsque CarPlay est activé.
Lorsque CarPlay n’est pas connecté, il est possible de sélectionner la sortie audio souhaitée. En revanche, dès que CarPlay est activé, cette possibilité disparaît et il devient impossible de basculer, par exemple, vers le Bluetooth de la voiture ou vers les haut-parleurs du téléphone.

Poor carplay functions on waze for KIA ev6
Make available road closures for KIA EV6 2022-2024 models on apple carplay. Everytime I encounter a road closure I have to disconnect the phone from applecarplay and do it manually on the phone. If I am not able to do that I usually press map error

Add Waze HUD Support for Mercedes-Benz Vehicles in the UK
Please add Waze turn-by-turn navigation to the Head-Up Display (HUD) on compatible Mercedes-Benz vehicles in the UK, such as the EQS.
Apple Maps and Google Maps already show turn directions and distances on the HUD through Apple CarPlay. It would be great if Waze could offer the same support.
Even basic turn arrows, distances and roundabout exits would be a big improvement and make Waze much better integrated with modern Mercedes vehicles.1 vote -
CarPlay Hazard Button Highlighted Better (Apple)
In Apple CarPlay scrolling to get on the Hazard Icon at the bottom left it is hard to tell if your on it or not as it gets a small grey ring around it and the yellow colour changes slightly. I’m sure this used to be more noticeable as you have to do it quickly while driving. Consider maybe looking at how it was or change colour more obviously when you are on the hazard button. Could be made more obvious or change to orange or red maybe when your over it and about to click it.

CarPlay see step by step route
On a phone, one can see the step-by-step route, but not in CarPlay. It shows on the phone. So now, while driving, I need to pick up my phone, which is not safe. Please make the CarPlay interface match the phone's.

Report Gas Prices in CarPlay
Using a phone, one can update the gas prices. But that is not possible in CarPlay. I'd need to disconnect my phone from the car, update the prices, and then reconnect it.

Es sollte möglich sein, Waze über Apple CarPlay zu nutzen, ohne dass das Fahrzeug Waze automatisch als aktives Navigationssystem erkennt.Derzeit schaltet das Auto häufig sein integriertes Navigationssystem ab, sobald Waze über CarPlay gestartet wird. Dadurch verschwindet die Navigationsanzeige im Display hinter dem Lenkrad.
Idealerweise sollten beide Systeme gleichzeitig funktionieren: Waze für die Navigation und Verkehrsinformationen über CarPlay, während die fahrzeugeigene Navigation weiterhin aktiv bleibt und Hinweise im Kombiinstrument anzeigen kann. Das würde die Nutzung deutlich komfortabler und sicherer machen.

Being able to see detailed directions in apple car play rather than having to use your smartphone.

Label font color doesn't always follow toggling light/dark mode
When CarPlay toggles back and forth between light and dark modes (e.g. while driving tree-lined roads), the color of the font for the labels does not always keep up (e.g. light-dark-light mode transition sequence sometimes still uses a white color for the font). When hovering over a label, the correct color momentarily appears.

Highlight with contrast actions during selection process (for CarPlay trackpad support)
It would be helpful to highlight, with contrasting border, an icon as it is being selected. I happen to have a vehicle that uses a trackpad instead of a touch screen so I must scroll to the desired icon (which highlights it), then press the trackpad to select it. Currently it is difficult to distinguish whether an icon is highlighted before selecting. If, for example, the yellow triangle-plus icon had a white and black (suggest both for contrast under light and dark conditions) circular border that appeared when highlighted, it would be much easier to verify I had the correct…

EV Charger filter and available charger display
The Charing point button in the search while navigating should display a map alongside the list. (similar to the smartphone app.)
The results should have a filter for charging speed. (Similar to the smartphone app)
The result should show the current state of the charger as well as the number of free and occupied chargers available for your vehicle.
(Like it does in the smartphone app.)All of these are there already, just non of these are implemented in a good and usable state for CarPlay.

I really love Waze and want to make it my primary navigation app, but a few CarPlay interface issues are holding it back for me:
Map panning during navigation

CarPlay (iOS) with dynamic screen size causes map to be cropped
I have a Ford F150 2025 and it has a big screen with an option to shrink or enlarge the CarPlay display area.
Even if I leave it large, the app gets a resize event and looks like there may be a race condition handling this event as the map is cropped.
If I go to some other app (ie Music) then back, the problem is solved.
