Show small roads in rural areas
The Waze client, and also the "live map" on the web site, hides smaller roads as you zoom out. This is fine in cities where there are many roads. However, in rural areas, the small roads are simetimes the only roads, and if they are hidden then the map can appear completely blank.
I suggest changing to an algorithm that takes the amount of clutter into account. Something like "first disply the major highways; if the screen is not yet too cluttered then also display the minor highways; if the screen is not yet too cluttered then also display the major roads; if the screen is not yet too cluttered then also display the ordinary roads; if the screen is not yet too cluttered then also display the small roads, parking lot roads, private roads, 4x4 tracks, etc."

Improve spoken voice prompts speed
I often find that when driving at speeds faster than 50mph and approaching roundabouts(slowing down of course) off slip roads from dual carriageways/ Motorways often the voice prompts are to slow in mentioning in what turn I need resulting in me needing to go around the roundabout twice to understand the given direction or as the case in the last few days actually being told which turn whilst on the roundabout going past the turn I needed!!
Please look into this as my Garmin unit still gets used a lot because of this problem making it sometimes unsafe to consider Waze when driving in Kent along the M2/M20.

Add traffic light and bus stop option for the "Are you in traffic?" prompts.
Often times the slowdowns detected are due to traffic lights or bus stops.

Make the Interstate Highways Stand out more with a Different Color
Sometimes it's difficult to get your bearings on where exactly you are on the Waze Map. It would help, I believe, if you made the Interstate Highways Stand out more prominently perhaps with a different color so as you can see the main arteries of travel to better base yourself and understand very quickly where exactly you are on the map!

Resolve GPRS/EDGE connectivity issue
Wifi works great, but when I am on road or trying to connect via GPRS, Waze rarely connects. On the web and on the Waze forums itself this issues is litterred numerous times, with various people discovering different ways which made it work for them. None of them, unfortunately worked for me. This means that on road, I have no Waze connectivity for updates. Bad. This should be a critical issue to be put on top priority.

Have client present auto-off if removed from charging
I sometimes make frequent stops during a trip, and it is an annoyance to have to start and stop the client so that it doesn't give false heavy traffic reports. If I am in the car, I always have the phone on a charger. if the client senses that the phone is no longer charging, have a pop-up box ask if the application should be turned off.

Bring back the average speed zone progress bar and show actual average speed
After the recent Waze interface change, the progress bar for average speed enforcement zones has disappeared.
Previously, there was a vertical progress indicator on the left side of the screen showing my position within the average speed zone. It was very useful because I could instantly see how far I had already travelled through the controlled section and how much remained.
The new interface only shows that the average speed zone has started and the remaining distance until it ends. This is much less intuitive and requires the driver to read information instead of understanding the situation at a glance.
I would suggest not only bringing the progress bar back, but improving it:
Restore the progress bar showing the driver's current position within the average speed enforcement zone.
Next to the position marker, display the driver's current average speed since entering the zone.
Keep the speed limit clearly visible for comparison.
Continue showing the remaining distance to the end of the zone.
For example, if the speed limit is 100 km/h and my calculated average speed through the section is currently 94 km/h, I should be able to see 94 km/h next to my position marker on the progress bar.
This would make average speed enforcement zones much easier to understand at a glance and would actually help drivers maintain the correct average speed instead of constantly trying to estimate it themselves.
Please consider bringing back the previous progress indicator and adding real-time average speed calculation to it.After the recent Waze interface change, the progress bar for average speed enforcement zones has disappeared.

Enable Toyota instrument cluster navigation
New Toyota vehicles like Corolla 2023+, latest C-HR, and similar cars have the ability to partially show navigation on the instrument cluster in front of the steering wheel. For example turn right after 150 meters. This works with Google Maps, but not with Waze. Waze has implemented this functionality in the beginning of the year 2025, but not for Toyota vehicles. Please add support for Toyota.

Deveria iniciar a navegação logo no primeiro clique.

Custom Map Themes/Skins (Game HUD Style like GTA, Need For Speed, Cyberpunk)
While Waze already offers custom voices and moods, the navigation map layout itself remains largely the same. It would be awesome to introduce customizable map themes/skins inspired by classic gaming HUDs (e.g., retro arcade minimaps, NFS-style night/neon aesthetics, or GTA-inspired map palettes).
Why this would be great for Waze:
Deeper Immersion: Custom UI themes go beyond just changing the car icon or voice, offering a fresh visual experience.
Great for Marketing Partnerships: Waze could collaborate with game publishers for temporary promotional themes during major game launches.
Fully Optional & Safe: These themes could function similarly to Dark Mode (a color and icon palette swap), maintaining high contrast, route clarity, and road safety without cluttering the screen.
Even generic style options (like "Synthwave/Neon", "Retro Arcade", or "Minimalist Dark") would make daily commuting much more fun and unique.

Compass carplay
Add the simple compass to the display in CarPlay. My car does not have a built in compass, but does have its own GPS that does show it, but I prefer to use Waze. It would be nice to have the compass in Waze.

Toll monitoring columns in Germany
In Waze, the blue toll monitoring columns commonly used in Germany are regularly and incorrectly marked as speed cameras. It might be a good idea to introduce a separate marker for toll monitoring columns so that users are not mistakenly warned about a speed camera.

Bring back "Reports Ahead" on Android Auto
Bring back "Reports Ahead" on Android Auto. Latest update removed option to see the list of Reports Ahead. Seeing these is critical when you are route planning. Especially on the fly when there is traffic, closed roads, accidents, etc. Specifically in Subarus but I'm guessing other auto brands too.

Head up display
Dear Waze Team,
Please add Head-Up Display (HUD) support for Waze navigation in Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Many modern vehicles, including the new Toyota RAV4 2026, are equipped with advanced HUD systems that can display navigation instructions directly on the windshield. It would be extremely useful and safer if Waze could show upcoming turns, lane guidance, distance to the next maneuver, and other navigation information on the HUD.
Waze is my preferred navigation app, and HUD integration would greatly improve the driving experience and help drivers keep their eyes on the road.
Thank you for considering this feature
