Average speed calculation during average-speed camera zones
Feature suggestion: Average speed calculation during average-speed camera zones
I think Waze could add a feature that shows the driver's current average speed while driving through an average-speed camera zone.
For example, if the speed limit is 90 km/h and I accidentally drive at 110 km/h for part of the section, Waze could calculate my current average speed and show what speed I need to maintain for the rest of the section to finish with an average of 90 km/h.
It could display something like:
Speed limit: 90 km/h
Current average: 101 km/h
Distance remaining: 3.5 km
Required speed for the remaining distance: 75 km/hThis would make the average-speed camera feature much more useful and help drivers understand their actual average speed throughout the entire controlled section.

Avoid School Zones
"Avoid active School Zones" like the avoid toll roads & ferry option. Due to decreased speed regulations “when children are present”, avoiding school zones could help drivers make better decisions on route choices, seeing as schools start/stop dates vary depending upon your area.

Alert sound indicating upcoming route change while on the phone
I drive long distances and one of the main issues I have is that when I'm on the phone, there is no alert sound to indicate an upcoming route change. Apple maps will ding to force you to look down and realize you have an upcoming route change. It's easy to get distracted on the phone and not be paying close attention to your next change when Waze is silent.

Instant location marking button for issue reporting afterwards
I see some issue on road that I want to report, but I am driving. I can’t report after I passed. Is it possible to have button on Nav screen for marking a place, for reporting an issue, after I stopped driving?

Allert for heavy/high vehicales
suggestion - to add a feature that allerts heavy/high vehicals, from enetering into restricted road. For Ex - road 395 in israel.
Driver that enters this road without knowing about the restriction will go all the way up the road and will have to do a u - turn, get a traffic report or to cause traffic jam at a specific area where the road is narrow that they cant pass through2 votes -

Quick Travel Mode Switching for Users with Multiple Vehicles
This feature has already been suggested by the Waze community, and it appears to be a recurring request from multiple users since years. However, there does not seem to have been any update or response regarding its development.
Context
I use Waze both as a car driver and as a motorcyclist, so I regularly switch between different modes of transportation depending on the trip.
The problem
Currently, changing the travel mode is not quick or easily accessible. To switch from car to motorcycle, I have to navigate through several menus and access the settings to change my vehicle.
This is particularly inconvenient for users who regularly alternate between multiple vehicles. The need is quite simple: quickly tell Waze which vehicle I am going to use for my next trip.
Proposed solution
I suggest allowing users to configure the different modes of transportation they regularly use in their profile: car, motorcycle, bicycle, etc.
For users who only have one mode configured, nothing would change.
However, when a user has multiple modes configured, Waze could display a quick selection pop-up when opening the app, for example:
Which vehicle are you using today?
🚗 Car | 🏍️ MotorcycleThe user could then select their preferred mode with a single tap, and Waze would use the appropriate navigation settings.
This pop-up could be enabled or disabled in the settings, giving users control over the feature.
It would also be useful to have this selection directly available when searching for a route, particularly when planning a trip scheduled for later. In this situation, a user may plan a trip several hours or even days in advance without yet knowing whether they will travel by car or motorcycle. Being able to select the travel mode directly when planning the route would avoid having to change the settings later.
Goal
The goal would be to make switching between travel modes possible in one or two taps, while keeping the current interface unchanged for users who only use one mode of transportation.
I believe this would be particularly useful for people who regularly use multiple vehicles, especially drivers and motorcyclists.
Thank you for considering this suggestion!

Feature: Quick Peek Upcoming Turns
For unfamiliar roads, I want a quick and intuitive way to “peek” at my next turn so I can position my car properly in advance.
Let users manually scroll the map ahead to an upcoming turn. The turn closest to the centre of the screen should automatically be highlighted and show its turn information. The turn highlight colour and turn information background colour could match, making the visual connection between the highlighted turn and its information immediately clear.
This is especially useful when multiple turns are close together. As the user moves the map, the highlighted turn would clearly indicate which specific turn they are currently viewing, removing any ambiguity about which turn the displayed information refers to.
Sometimes Waze already displays a simplified version of the next turn directly below the current navigation instruction. Allow users to enable an “Always show next turn” option so this information is always available. The entire next-turn information area could then be tappable to trigger the “peek”, rather than requiring a separate button, making it easier to use on the go. A small “Peek” CTA could also be added to help users discover this function.
When the user taps the next-turn information, the map would automatically zoom out so they can see both their current location and the highlighted next turn on the same screen. This lets users immediately understand how far away the next turn is and where it is in relation to their current location.
The upcoming turn could also be slightly enlarged in addition to being highlighted, making it easier to identify when the turn is further away and the map needs to zoom out significantly.
Importantly, the map should not automatically move the user's current position to the next turn. If the turn is far away, this could cause the user to lose their current position and make the map less useful for immediate navigation. Keeping the current location visible while showing the next turn provides useful context without disrupting navigation.
If the user wants a closer look at the next turn, they can tap the highlighted turn, which would automatically zoom the map in to that turn.
After peeking ahead, provide an easy-to-press “Return to current location” button. Alternatively, the map could automatically return to the driver's current location after a short countdown.
When the user returns to their current location, the turn information should revert to the current navigation instruction and its default background colour, providing a clear visual distinction between peeking at an upcoming turn and navigating the current one.
This would give drivers a simple way to understand an upcoming turn and prepare for it early, helping reduce last-minute lane changes, missed turns, and uncertainty on unfamiliar roads.

Don't Popup the "Would you like to enable voice control?" during navigation
During navigation a prompt will pop up asking to enable voice control. This covers the entire screen and doesn't go away until interacted with. In many countries it's illegal to touch your phone while driving. This has essentially rendered waze useless for me and I've had to go back to google maps.

reduce the amount of turn warnings. I counted 6 warnings to exit a highway!
"prepare to exit highway in 1.5km"
"...in 800m"
"...in 400m"
"...in 200m"
"...in 100m"
"exit"(going off memory here, so the values may be off)
I suggest reducing the warnings to 3 or 4 :
"prepare to exit in 1km"
"...in 200m"
"...in100m"
"exit now"2 votes -
"Other side" reporting of police should ONLY be available on divided highways and interstates.
One shouldn't have to look at the screen to see a marked police location but get no audible report/alert. Please alert for both directions.
People in town or rural highways often use "other side" tag but the police are present for BOTH directions because it's not like they can't be watching lanes each way on regular roads.2 votes -
stop changing routes
Please add an option to disable Waze from changing your route as soon as you start driving, I specifically choose routes that are a couple minutes longer as I hate certain roads yet it’s useless as as soon as I set off Waze has already changed my route and put me back onto the way I didn’t want to go, this is really frustrating and definitely the worst part of the app

Implement a user-selectable feature to inhibit re-routes that won't save more than nn minutes
Simple. Provide radio buttons for Settings that will allow one to inhibit re-routes unless they will save one a minimum of some number of minutes; e.g., 5-minutes, 10 minutes

Permanent warning of the possibility of animal crossing
Hi, It occurred to me that it would be useful to have a permanent warning (like the Tutor) of the possibility of wild animals (like deer) or domestic animals (like cows) crossing the road.
My suggestion is for the following feature: Added permanent warning “Possible animal crossing”.
My suggestion solves this problem: Know how far and how many kilometers you’ll be at risk of animals crossing the road. Don’t be caught unprepared when dealing with animals.
In more words: The warning would be similar to the average speed control warning. This warning doesn’t replace the animal warning, but it would provide advance warning of the possibility of animals crossing the road. If an animal were on the road at that moment, the animal warning button would be used.
