Wpisuje się w filozofię Waze jako aplikacji dbającej o komfort i bezpieczeństwo kierowcy.ENG: Currently, while driving through a section with average speed control (Section Control / average speed cameras), Waze only shows the section-control icon along with the remaining distance to the end of the section. The icon is displayed in a single, fixed light blue color, regardless of whether the driver is keeping a safe pace or exceeding the allowed average speed for the section — it therefore serves a purely informational purpose ("you are in a speed-controlled section"), but says nothing about whether the current driving pace is appropriate. Drivers also have no information about how much time buffer or deficit they have relative to the limit. This makes it harder to smoothly adjust speed and increases the risk of exceeding the limit near the end of the section, or of unnecessary hard braking right before it ends.
Proposed feature:
Dynamic color of the section-control icon at the bottom of the screen
I propose that the icon's color change dynamically depending on whether the driver is staying within the average speed limit for the given section:
🟢 Green – the driver is driving at a pace that will keep them within the allowed average speed for the entire section (they have a time buffer).
🔴 Red – the driver is going too fast relative to the allowed average and needs to slow down in order not to exceed the limit by the end of the section.
🔵 (optional, as an intermediate/default state) – light blue, as it is now, when the system doesn't yet have enough data to calculate the buffer/deficit (e.g., right after entering the section).
Additional numeric info below the remaining distance
With the green icon: e.g. "Buffer: you can drive ~15 km/h faster for the rest of the section and still make it" or, more simply, in seconds: "You have a 15 s buffer until the end of the section."
With the red icon: e.g. "You're going too fast – slow down, you're exceeding the limit by 20 s" or "You need to lose ~20 s by the end of the section to stay within the limit."
Calculation method
The app already knows: (a) the total length of the section-control zone, (b) the speed/average limit for that section, (c) the current position and the time elapsed since entering the section. Based on this, it can calculate in real time the "ideal time" (the time that should elapse if driving exactly at the limit) and compare it with the actual elapsed time — the difference is exactly the buffer/deficit in seconds.
Benefits:
Drivers get clear, unambiguous feedback (color + number) instead of having to mentally calculate their remaining speed buffer themselves.
Reduces the risk of hard braking right before the end of the section (improving safety).
Helps avoid unnecessary speeding tickets while also encouraging a smoother, more fuel-efficient driving style.
Aligns with Waze's philosophy of prioritizing driver comfort and safety.PL: Obecnie podczas przejazdu przez odcinkowy pomiar prędkości Waze pokazuje ikonę OPP oraz dystans pozostały do końca odcinka. Speed
Hello Waze Team,
Please consider making speed camera alerts always play on Android Auto, even when driving above the speed limit.
In the UK, speed limits can change frequently on smart motorways, and the alert is especially important if a driver has missed a new limit. An audible warning would improve safety and help drivers slow down in time.
Thank you.

Fix repeated talking and wrong talking
Recently, and probably before that, there has been a bug where if you use your voice to direct you on the map, and if I have to turn left or right coming up, it says to turn wayyyy before you need to turn. Another thing (not a bug- it's annoying) is that it keeps saying in 1 mile turn left/right, in 0.5 miles turn left/right, in 0.1 miles turn left/right, at the signal turn left/right. Me and my dad find this annoying.

Alert both directions of travel for police
Maybe this isn't a new idea and has already been expressed here but I think it would be important for both directions of travel to receive an alert of police no matter which side it was reported on, because often it is sitting in the middle between both directions and other times it's a two-lane highway where the police on the other side could still get you. I believe this could also effectively eliminate the need for reporting a police on the other side and just have a single report police button.

AI-Powered "Wake-Up" Alerts at Bottlenecks & Green Lights to Dissolve Traffic Faster
The Problem:
Traffic jams and traffic lights clear up slowly because of human reaction time. When a light turns green or a bottleneck clears, there is a "domino effect" delay as each driver takes a few seconds to notice and move. This significantly reduces the number of cars that manage to pass through during a green light. The Solution:
Waze can detect the exact point where a bottleneck dissolves or when a traffic light turns green based on real-time data from the leading vehicles.Once this "release point" is identified, Waze should send a subtle, prompt audio/visual alert (like a gentle chime or a "Traffic is moving - stay close!" notification) strictly to the drivers at the front of the queue.
The Impact:
Even if only 50% of the drivers respond to this alert and minimize the gap with the vehicle ahead, it will dramatically speed up the traffic release rate. This crowd-sourced coordination will reduce the overall duration of bottlenecks and maximize the number of cars passing through every green light cycle.Proposed Pilot Program:
To test the effectiveness of this feature, Waze could launch a targeted pilot program at a few notorious intersections or well-known bottleneck locations with chronic traffic. By measuring queue lengths and wait times before and after implementing the alerts at these specific locations, Waze can scientifically prove the improvement in traffic flow before a global rollout. The Problem:

Multi Waypoint Route Planning
Provide multi waypoint route planning, allowing shaping points for tailoring routes, and a library to store routes.
This could be achieved online via Google Maps and synch to Waze app, perhaps under a Subscription model.
Supporting export in GPX format would be a nice value add in support of this too.2 votes -

Customizable reporting shortcuts on the main screen
Waze should allow users to add two or three customizable reporting shortcuts to the main navigation screen.
For example, reporting a stopped vehicle currently requires several taps through different menus. While doing this, drivers must look at the screen instead of the road, which can be distracting and potentially dangerous.
Most users regularly use only a few of the available reporting options. Customizable one-tap shortcuts would make it possible to report common hazards much faster and return full attention to the road immediately.

Navigation interruption
When receiving a Botim or WhatsApp call while driving, Waze gets pushed to the background, interrupting map navigation. To prevent this, please add support for Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode. Additionally, if you re-open Waze after a call, it forces you to re-search the destination; the app should instead save the active trip and resume navigation automatically.
Suggested Fixes:
* Implement Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode so the map remains visible during calls.
* Ensure active navigation state is preserved so trips don't need to be restarted manually.2 votes -
Allow Waze users to correct sightings of "mobile police cameras" when it fact the devices are "license plate readers".
My town has many "license plate readers" that allow police to locate stolen cars or to respond to Amber and Silver alerts. Too many people report them as "mobile police cameras". These devices are not "mobile" and they are not intended to monitor speed. They are intended to locate bad actors. In fact, Waze should not identify these plate readers because they might help bad actors escape detection.

Have Red Light Camera(s) Take Over Traffic Lights
I've seen several users complaining about red light camera(s) not being mapped at many intersections, even though it is mapped (but can only be one-way direction (capturing rear license plates)), it's the traffic lights that are defeating the visibility of the red light camera. Basically, they have the impression that it's a new camera installed, when it's been there for months or years.
I believe users are more used to seeing red light camera(s) displayed on the map, whether it alerts or not when approaching one (like it was before the traffic light rollout), because it also has a traffic light icon inside the camera, making it recognizable as a TL intersection. See https://imgur.com/a/gUWKtiZ
This is NOT intended to mislead anyone (even senior editors). It's about some things that users were more used to when glancing at the screen to see where it's located (even if it doesn't alert them for rear license plates), but Waze should continue to say "At/After the light" if turning.
