Audio navigation alert assist
Considering that many modern vehicles already use spatial audio or directional sound to assist drivers, I would like to suggest an enhancement to the Waze navigation experience.
Today, several parking assistance systems and 360-degree camera solutions use directional audio cues, allowing drivers to intuitively identify the location of nearby obstacles. For example, an obstacle located at the rear-left side of the vehicle generates a sound that is perceived more strongly from that direction, while an obstacle at the front-right side is emphasized accordingly.
Building on this concept, Waze could apply directional audio to navigation instructions. When approaching a right turn, the navigation prompt and voice guidance could be emphasized through the right side of the vehicle's audio system. Likewise, left-turn instructions could be highlighted through the left side.
This approach could make navigation more intuitive, reduce driver cognitive load, and create a more natural and immersive user experience, especially in vehicles equipped with surround sound systems or spatial audio capabilities.

I am a police traffic officer, I would like to share my map location to Wazers where I am active driving in emergency mode or blocked roads.
When my in-car lights and siren is activated I can create a signal output, which would be able to turn on live GPS information so Wazers can see which direction I am going, if I'm in their way, and let them know if they might be in my direction. This way, Wazers can slow or choose a different direction if say a road is blocked due to a crash, or if it would help them move out of traffic so that they do not get hit by drivers that are not paying attention.

Dedicated report option for Incident Response & non-police emergency vehicles
In New South Wales, Transport Management Centre (TMC) incident response vehicles are frequently reported as “Police” on motorways like the M1 and M4 simply because of their flashing lights.
While it is valuable for drivers to know there is an incident response unit or roadside service ahead, misreporting them dilutes the utility of the “Police” alert, which should ideally be reserved for law enforcement (such as Highway Patrol).
Having a dedicated report category—such as “Incident Response / Service Vehicle” or a broader “Emergency Vehicle (Non-Police)” option under Roadside Hazards—would:
- Keep “Police” alerts accurate and focused on active enforcement.
- Give drivers situational awareness of roadside operations (TMC, breakdown recovery, fire/SES) without creating false speed traps.
- Improve overall report data quality across the network.

Output roundabout turn angle as metadata
My car has a heads-up display that will show an icon representing the next action in he turn-by-turn directions. One of the key ways this breaks when using Waze compared to Google Maps is when the turn is a roundabout. Waze's roundabout icon is a little vortex with a number in that tells you which # turn (counterclockwise) you need to take to follow the route, and it appears that it only outputs that information as metadata to Android Auto or the vehicle to be interpreted by systems like HUD. This results in my HUD always showing a hairpin right turn out of the roundabout, rather than one that reflects the route, and means I can't temporarily switch off the nav screen to adjust Spotify (for example) if there are roundabouts ahead and rely on my HUD.
This issue is not happening with Google Maps because Google Maps outputs metadata for the exit angle of the turn for roundabouts, so a 90° value would show a right turn, 180° would be a through-path, 270° a left turn, and so on. This exit angle data is what my Mercedes HUD uses to draw the roundabout icon.
I would love to be using Waze instead of Maps, but unfortunately every time I see this behavior it really bugs me.

Suggestion: Allow Users to Report Temporary Road and Bridge Closures via the Waze Website
I'm getting quite frustrated with Waze, as multiple times during my commute from work to home, it has directed me towards bridges or roads that are closed due to construction work.
I think Waze should introduce an interactive map on its desktop website that allows users to easily report temporary road closures, bridge closures, roadworks, and other blockages.
Some features I'd like to see include:
- Report closures from a PC: Allow users to select a road or bridge directly on the map and report a temporary closure.
- Bridges as selectable locations: Make bridges identifiable on the map so users can report when a specific bridge is closed.
- Temporary construction zones: Allow users to mark areas where roadworks are taking place, including the affected roads.
- Upload photographic evidence: Let users upload a photo of a road closure sign showing the dates and times of the closure.
- Manually enter closure times: Allow users to specify when a closure starts and ends, including recurring closures (e.g. overnight roadworks between 8 PM and 6 AM).
- Community verification: Allow other Waze users to confirm whether a reported closure is still in place.
- Better route planning: Ensure reported closures are considered when Waze calculates routes, preventing drivers from being directed towards roads that are known to be closed.
I understand that Waze relies heavily on community reports, but not everyone can safely report a closure while driving. Having the option to report closures from a computer after completing a journey would make it much easier to keep the map accurate.
The main goal is simple: if a road or bridge is closed, Waze should know about it before directing drivers towards it.
I believe these features would significantly improve the experience for commuters and help prevent unnecessary diversions, wasted fuel, and frustration.

Subject: Black Bar Appears in Landscape Mode on iPhone
Subject: Black Bar Appears in Landscape Mode on iPhone
Hello Waze Support Team,
I would like to report a visual issue with the Waze app on the iPhone 15 Pro. When using navigation in landscape mode, a black bar appears on the screen. It cannot be removed and negatively affects the app’s appearance and user experience.
Could you please investigate this issue and consider fixing it in a future update?
P.S. The same issue has also been observed on the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 13.
Thank you for your attention.

Hear Interesting Facts About Places You're Driving Through
I think it would be really cool if Waze introduced an audio feature that uses AI to share interesting facts about the towns, cities, and landmarks as you pass through them.
For example, during a road trip, Waze could occasionally share a fun historical fact, an unusual local story, or something interesting about the area's culture or geography.
Ideally, users could opt into this feature (even a possible toggle button or specific “road trip mode”) and choose how frequently they'd like to hear facts (e.g., every 30 minutes to 1 hour). Facts could be shared during quieter stretches of the drive, when there aren't many navigation instructions, so they wouldn't interfere with directions or alerts. It might also be nice to have a different voice for the fun facts than the one used for navigation.
I think it would make long drives super entertaining, especially when exploring new places. It would also be a fun way to discover interesting things about places you might otherwise pass through without giving them a second thought.
