Navigate through alerts popups
There have been many times when I'm stopped and Waze is cycling through the different alerts that people have reported and I'll see the tail end of one and then it changes and I have no way to go back to see it again.
I would like to see a forward, backwards, and don't show this alert again option.

geotagged photo's
Add a function to take geotagged photo's and show them on the map. This way you can take a picture of a street sign, and later enter the street name in cartouche without having to look it up on another map

Loading Status
I find that usually waze appears to load quite quickly, but will then freeze intermittently and loosing GPS lock whilst actually finishing 'loading' (Contacting server etc). It would be good it some form of message or progress bar could be shown so that it is obvious that it is still loading and not actually frozen

Add a Quick Access to Avoid Freeways
Add a quick access link for "Avoid Freeways" currently on Android there is "Avoid" but there are 3 steps to get to Avoid Freeways. I toggle this on and off frequently depending on traffic, weather, time of day, and personal preference of wanting to take the streets instead of the busy, truck heavy freeway. I usually change it everytime I GPS a route and would prefer a quick button that turns it off and on, even so while driving in the event traffic patterns change while driving in route.

Suggestion: Allow Users to Report Temporary Road and Bridge Closures via the Waze Website
I'm getting quite frustrated with Waze, as multiple times during my commute from work to home, it has directed me towards bridges or roads that are closed due to construction work.
I think Waze should introduce an interactive map on its desktop website that allows users to easily report temporary road closures, bridge closures, roadworks, and other blockages.
Some features I'd like to see include:
- Report closures from a PC: Allow users to select a road or bridge directly on the map and report a temporary closure.
- Bridges as selectable locations: Make bridges identifiable on the map so users can report when a specific bridge is closed.
- Temporary construction zones: Allow users to mark areas where roadworks are taking place, including the affected roads.
- Upload photographic evidence: Let users upload a photo of a road closure sign showing the dates and times of the closure.
- Manually enter closure times: Allow users to specify when a closure starts and ends, including recurring closures (e.g. overnight roadworks between 8 PM and 6 AM).
- Community verification: Allow other Waze users to confirm whether a reported closure is still in place.
- Better route planning: Ensure reported closures are considered when Waze calculates routes, preventing drivers from being directed towards roads that are known to be closed.
I understand that Waze relies heavily on community reports, but not everyone can safely report a closure while driving. Having the option to report closures from a computer after completing a journey would make it much easier to keep the map accurate.
The main goal is simple: if a road or bridge is closed, Waze should know about it before directing drivers towards it.
I believe these features would significantly improve the experience for commuters and help prevent unnecessary diversions, wasted fuel, and frustration.

The notification bar in landscape mode takes up almost a quarter of the entire screen and takes out a load of the map - please redesign just like Google maps and Apple Maps in landscape mode so the notification is to one side

Multiple confirmations to remove Police reports to prevent police self-deletion
I would like to suggest an important improvement to how Police, Speed Camera, or Speed Trap reports are removed.
Currently, a single user tap is enough to completely delete a police report from the map. This creates a loophole that is actively exploited by the police. Since there are usually two officers in a police car, one can easily drive while the other taps and removes the alert with a single click.
I have experienced this firsthand: I reported a police car on my way somewhere, and when I drove back on the same route just 10 minutes later, the police were still physically sitting there, but the report was completely gone from Waze.
Proposed solution:
1. Removing a police report, camera, or speed trap should require confirmation from multiple independent drivers (e.g., at least 3 drivers) rather than just a single tap.
2. A single individual should not have the unilateral power to delete a community report instantly. This change would protect community warnings from being unfairly silenced by the police and keep Waze reliable for everyone.

Quick vehicle selector toggle on map screen / route preview (Car vs. Motorcycle)
Currently, switching between vehicle types (e.g., Private Car and Motorcycle) requires diving deep into Settings > Vehicle details > Vehicle type.
For users who alternate frequently between driving a car and riding a motorcycle, this flow is slow and impractical—especially when gearing up on a bike with gloves or in a rush.
Proposed Solution:
Add a direct quick-toggle or shortcut icon on the main map interface or in the route preview sheet (similar to how Google Maps lets you toggle transport modes before hitting "Start").
Allow quick switching between two favorite vehicle profiles with a single tap.
Keep the last used vehicle remembered by default.
This would drastically improve usability, reduce setup friction before departing, and ensure routing/toll/HOV calculations match the vehicle being driven immediately.

Average speed cameras in Serbia
There are many cameras on Serbian motorways that measure average speed between two points. Waze has marked all of them simply as "speed cameras." They should be renamed to "average speed cameras" so that drivers are not misled into thinking they are cameras that measure instantaneous speed.
This is especially important for foreign drivers traveling through Serbia, but it would also be beneficial for Serbian drivers, since there are also regular speed cameras that measure instantaneous speed.

Option to move Report Button to the left side on CarPlay
As a left-handed driver sitting on the left side of the vehicle, having the CarPlay report button permanently fixed on the right side of the screen is very inconvenient and counter-intuitive. It forces me to reach across the entire screen with my non-dominant hand or awkwardly with my left hand.
Please add a manual setting in Waze to toggle the CarPlay layout/UI buttons between the left and right sides, regardless of the vehicle's default steering wheel configuration. This would greatly improve accessibility for left-handed drivers.1 vote -

Feature suggestion: AI-Based Wildlife Risk Alerts
I would like to suggest a new road safety feature for Waze: automatically identifying and warning drivers about roads with a high risk of wildlife crossings.
The idea is to use crowdsourced data from Waze users who report wild animals near or on roads, including deer, wild boar and other wildlife.
Instead of displaying only temporary reports, Waze could analyse accumulated data over time to identify high-risk road segments. The system could consider the frequency and location of reports, time of day, season and historical patterns.
When approaching a high-risk segment, drivers would receive an early warning such as:
“Caution: Increased wildlife activity ahead.”
The alerts could be dynamic, appearing only when the data indicates an elevated risk, for example during dawn, dusk or seasonal periods of increased animal movement.
To improve reliability, the system could use a confidence threshold and regularly update risk levels as new reports arrive.
This feature could help prevent wildlife collisions, protect drivers and passengers, reduce vehicle damage and save animal lives.
Rather than simply reporting an animal after it has been spotted, Waze could use its community-driven data to predict where drivers should be especially careful before an incident occurs.
I believe this would be a valuable addition to Waze’s road safety features, especially in rural areas and forested regions across Europe.
